Liked: I had a very comfortable stay at Earnslaw Lodge. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and good linen. The location is good — just a short walk to the lakeside promenade, shops, and restaurants. The views over Lake Wakatipu from the property are beautiful, adding a special touch to the experience. Another practical bonus is the onsite laundrette, which was very convenient.
Disliked: The motel itself is very dated. The interior decor and furniture have clearly seen better days, and it is obvious that much of it belongs to a bygone era. The overall feel inside is tired and not particularly inviting, which might put off those looking for a more modern or stylish atmosphere.

Great location, amazing views and...

Liked: The room was large and well appointed. It was a great location with a bus stop almost directly out the front.The views of the lake were spectacular from my room and there was a balcony where you could sit and enjoy it.It was about a ten minute walk to central Queenstown and the parks and foreshore.
Disliked: The staff gave the attitude that they weren't that interested which was a shame. Sadly, I felt the staff let the place down. Had they showed a bit more enthusiasm it would have been a perfect stay.

Disliked: Odd television setup, no NZ Freeview Channels available. Couldn’t regulate temperature in room due to external hallway radiator going all the time. Bathroom fan didn’t after using ablutions. Lodge staff weren’t very visible.
