Great, affordable, last minute staycation...

Liked: The room was great. The room was small but ample. Gary put us in a corner room with a deck with furniture, all windows overlooking a small part of downtown. It very quiet at night. Sheets and towels were very clean, the floors, bathroom everything was clean. Nice size TV but on the side wall, so hard to watch if you're laid back in bed. Small fridge/freezer to store snacks, ice cream, leftovers for the couple of days stay. Good microwave. The access to downtown Rockport was great. I took 2 walks a day during my stay. The waterfront, beach, Bearneck village stores were all very accessible and within a 5-10 min walk. Two great coffee shops near by, both sell pastry and/or sandwiches. I ordered dinner at the Fish Shack Restaurant, less than a 5min walk -- good food. Ordered Chinese take out from Hong Kong Kitchen, less than 5 min drive in a near by neighborhood -- typical, satisfying New England Chinese food. Really nice family who runs it. If you need to run to the store, there's a Stop n Shop and Market Basket just outside of town near the rotary. Gary, the hotel manager was very nice and responsive to any questions or requests. The cleaning staff was great, too. Don't forget to leave them a good tip! I would stay here again.
Disliked: It was a very nice shower. However, there was a slightly bad smell coming from the drain in the shower. I bought a room spray and it was fine. On the outside, the property had piles of stuff on the floor below us and the garage adjacent to the parking lot also had piles of stuff. Not a big deal, but made the place look a bit unappealing. It didn't get in the way or anything, but may be considered unsightly especially when you see how beautiful and quaint Rockport is.

Liked: I stayed in a lower-level room with king-size bed and kitchenette. Everything was very clean, comfortable bedding, no overwhelming air-freshener odor, and everything worked! Location allows easy walk to absolutely everything.
Disliked: You need to be able to do stairs.

Disappointing

Disliked: Musty, some mold on heating vent, no control for heating, uncomfortable bed and pillows

Lack of control over heating...

Disliked: We had no control over the heating of the room. Had to twice request that the heat be turned up. We should have been informed about this lack of control prior to paying for the room.
