EA Hotel Victoria

Passable

Liked: well located to my work; double windows work well to block out street noise, the mattress (minus the waterproof mattress pad) was comfortable, pleasant receptionist (though this hotel has limited hours (only til 7 pm); quiet room, from inside the hotel as well.Note I didn't eat breakfast (brought my own oatmeal packets) but took a look the first day--its much less extensive than at the competing hotel across the street, but there was variety of lunch meats and cheeses--but no hot breakfast foods that I recall (possibly some boiled eggs, I can't remember). (Not sure this is a plus or minus--neutral I guess)
Disliked: cleaning inadequate--limited towel service even when a clean hand towel was requested, removed waterproof mattress after waking up sweating in the night (I don't understand why hotels use these); mold on shower walls only partly cleaned after pointing it out; tea bags not refilled, waste baskets not emptied. Taxi ordered at the end cost twice that of a regular Bolt or Uber and 500 crowns higher than posted in the lobby (the driver put me on meter). Not sure this is the hotel's fault but nevertheless tourists should be careful when ordering regular cabs. Toiletries very limited (kleenex box but no kleenex provided, even when asked, only soft soap and liquid bath/shower gel, nothing else. And furnishings very limited, limited closet and no closed shelf space) if you plan to unpack your clothes to stay longer (There were several hangers, and a few hooks in the room). In short, this was a very basic stay. I did get a good price but would happily have paid a bit more for a few luxuries.

Liked: The staff and the hotel room was great. Overall great place for the value!
Disliked: There should be locks on the inside of the room as the door is relatively unsecured and not lockable from the inside.

Great option of staying close...

Liked: The hotel is located 15 minutes walk from the main train station of Prague. However, if you have luggage, a tram or taxi will take you there in 5 minutes. I got a room with windows overlooking the courtyard, it was very quiet, I couldn’t hear the street and tram noise (the tram line runs right under the front windows of the hotel). My double room was very comfortable - new furniture, mini-fridge, good lighting, sockets, thick dark curtains on the windows, comfortable mattress and pillows, good soundproofing of the window system, tea/coffee set, fast free wifi. The bathroom has a good shower cabin, a large mirror, a convenient shelf for cosmetics and toiletries. The reception is open only from 14.00 to 18.30, the main entrance of the hotel closes after 22.00, but you will be given an individual digital code with which you can enter the hotel and your room. There is a Lidl supermarket and many restaurants near the hotel.
Disliked: Perhaps the only downside of the hotel is that there were no instructions for the safebox in the room and I was unable to enter the code, but this was not very important. In addition, the luggage storage room is open only until 18:00 - because after that there is no one at the reception. But you always can leave your luggage in the automatic storage at the railway station.
