Exceptional

A nice hotel that needs...

Liked: Very clean, friendly staff and quiet.
Disliked: Standoffish in reception no welcome just a quiet checkin. Told us nothing about the hotel just handed room keys. I stay in lots of very nice hotels and it’s all about the welcome. This is a well designed hotel but missing the matching service excellence and general ‘ personal touches’.As a designer I appreciate the interior details but basic things were overlooked in favour of ‘ furnishings and finishes’. No curtains in a bedroom is a complete no no when so many visit to rest and feel refreshed and not be woken to streaming light at daybreak. Blinds didn’t even fit the windows! Don’t book room 104 unless you want your door to jump every time the lift opens also. Small but important things that made the stay not feel 5 star.Tiny bathroom too.

Liked: It is a beautiful hotel, the location is quiet and charming, but you only have to turn the corner and you are in the centre of all of the city of Dublin. It is exquisitely designed, the restaurant is great and staff wonderful.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Location and slightly more modern than the other top hotels in Dublin.
Disliked: Dublin as a city was amazing and everyone we met couldn’t have been more friendly. However, this didn’t apply to our hotel where the staff were not at all welcoming or friendly and the service was very poor. We ate in three amazing restaurants during our stay in Dublin, being, Sole, Bovinity and RPG the food was incredible and the staff amazing. On our second night tried the hotel restaurant which was empty. Half an hour in we were told that they had sold out of all seafood following a wedding the previous day rather than advising us before we sat down. Took 45 mins just to get a drink in a deserted restaurant with more staff than customers. Truly disappointing and really unclear how the hotel can be a small leading hotel of the world. Whoever is running this place is really not doing a good job as all the staff seem to be seriously miserable and this really comes over to the guests and kills the vide stone dead. Should have been amazing and the room upgrade was greatly appreciated but that was the only positive from a 3 night stay!

Bit disappointing and overpriced but...

Liked: Great building with stylish decor and brilliant location for central Dublin and the Aviva stadium.
Disliked: Poor service from staff in the restaurant mainly because they were undermanned for a function happening in terrace but also out of their depth and under supervised. Unfortunately, the overall experience ruined our night.The management of the hotel (Conor and Patrick) dealt with the situation extremely well and ensured the service we had for the rest of our stay was excellent.The hotel was extremely expensive and the room was not really up to the billed price, 5 star tag or Michelin key. Loud aircon, no fresh milk in fridge and non-functioning toiletries dispensers in bathroom.
