Good location Hotel under renovation

Liked: The hotel was in an excellent location. The room was very clean and stocked adequately with supplies. Every person on staff was friendly and helpful. The water pressure was good and the hot water was hot.
Disliked: The first night the shower door completely fell off and crashed into the wall as I was getting out of the shower. Fortunately the glass did not shatter nor did it injure me, but it was quite startling and could have been dangerous. We went down to the desk to inform the clerk but no one was there. I had to push a call Button five times to get someone to come . He then came up to the room to investigate and said someone would come the next day to make the repair. This made it quite inconvenient for my roommate to take a shower the next morning. While we were out during the day a repairman did come and fix the door adequately. Mostly, this just created a lot of hassle and inconvenience but those things can happen. Also, upon arrival the room was hot, so we went back downstairs to inform the desk clerk who pushed some buttons on a panel and assured us that should make it work. After going out for dinner and returning to the hotel, it still was not working. So we went back down and he pushed some more buttons on a panel and it actually did come on and work well for the rest of our stay. Also, we were not aware that the entire hotel was under renovation so the stairs were all covered with plastic sheeting which was a bit slick under our feet going up and down the stairs as there was no elevator. Generally speaking, the room was clean and it was in a great location so we dealt with the other negatives.

Disliked: Room was a bit shabby- but everything worked. Hôtel also bit shabby with plastic on floors and stairs.

Liked: Our teens didn’t wake early so we didn’t take advantage of the breakfast but the teas and coffee available all day was appreciated. Amazing location for exploring. We appreciated the umbrellas for the rainy days! And the windows overlooking the street were a highlight at night.
