Perfect for spending time at...
Liked: It’s an unusual property right at the Durrell Wildlife Center. You can hear the animals! Our glamping pod had everything we needed including a clean kitchen and cookware, clean bathroom and a large bedroom. A kitchen tent, bathroom tent and bedroom tent and a picnic table and lounge chairs to ourselves.
Disliked: We loved it.

I was so pleased to...
Liked: Breakfast and other meals were available at the zoos cafes at the zoo. They were excellent and good value for the cost.
Disliked: There are no criticisms at all. The Durrell wildlife camp is beautifully set up with well planned kitchen, table and chairs, bathroom is roomy and comfortable including an airer for drying clothes. Bedroom was very roomy, comfortable bed and wood heater when needed, but I did not use it.

A magical experience in a...
Liked: This was a unique glamping experience so it is tricky to write the sort of review you would for other self catering accommodation. Suffice it to say, the "rooms" were far bigger than expected and all the "tents" were a good distance from the others with privacy afforded by growing willow hedges. The chairs and table can be moved into the "kitchen" area in inclement weather or when it gets chillier. The bed was comfy. There were sufficient pots and pans to make basic meals as there was a two ringed electric hob. A cool box is provided and ice blocks can be exchanged at the main reception. The information sent in advance was excellent and did specify the facilities and what you might want to bring in terms of food etc as there are no nearby places to buy anything if using public transport. The bus service to the zoo is brilliant during the day but of course only operates when the zoo is open. It was a magical experience waking up to the sound of the animals who seem to come to life at dawn. There is free access to the zoo which of course is why we went and 10% off food and drink in the cafes and gift shop for glamping guests.
Disliked: A couple of things had been left less than clean - so we had for instance to scrub a pan before use and wash some of the plates. It did get chilly at night but there is a log burner in the sleeping tent. We didn't light it as while we were there, a neighbour lit theirs and we found the smoke from that really horrid despite it being some distance away.

Great trip loved the zoo
Liked: Animals were well treated and enclosures really good
Disliked: Signage to some of the animals was incorrect. As an example We followed signs for the bats however when we found the building there were none as they were all sick.

Liked: We loved staying at Durrell’s wildlife camp. It was very comfortable and all the facilities were excellent. We enjoyed watching the lemurs coming and going while having dinner outside. It was lovely hearing the different calls of the animals at night. Included in the price is free entrance to the zoo while you are staying there. Adam was very kind and helpful to us. We highly recommend staying at Durrells zoo.

Fantastic, a dream come true!
Liked: I loved our glamping spot, neighbouring the lemur enclosure. We were also very lucky with a dry, sunny week in May 2025.Would love to visit again, although prices are rather high for us, so would have to start saving the pennies again.
Disliked: It was cold at night, so access to an extra duvet would have been nice, but brought extra nightwear, on the advice when booking.
