Great hostel

Liked: Great location, clean and comfortable hostel!

very good option for Washington...

Liked: Given USA hostel standards this hostel exceeded my expectations. Very clean, plenty of shared space, nice terrace, very cool breakfasts, very good security, multiple sets of free towels, fast wifi.
Disliked: no privacy in beds, just adding curtains would cost you probably 5$ but it already elevates an experience! Something that hostel has no control over but it feels like there was some sort of kleptomaniac in my room. in 4 days I lost 2 sets of used earplugs, sleeping mask, a pair of underwear and an old hat. all was stored either under the bed or on the bed in the same time nothing valuable was taken even it was also easily accesible. No blame to hostel just quite pity.

Superb

Liked: Staff was very friendly, sheets and towels were clean. Toilets were quite clean.
Disliked: Water pressure at some toilets and showers was low. Breakfast could be a bit more diverse, although pancakes were delicious.

Disliked: Was told upon arrival I would only be able to stay for one night because of where I live and I would be refunded for the other nights I booked. It has now been 45 days and I still have yet to receive my refund for the other nights booked

Exceptional

Hostel for dedicated traveller in...

Liked: Each morning they would prepare a breakfast of Blue berry pancakes in the kitchen. The kitchen and adjacent social areas are not particularly big but they are are cosy and when I was there it was a very cheery hostel. There is a downstairs area as well and a rooftop deck. The place is clean and the bathrooms were good. The hostel is close to the heart of the city and near all major attractions. There is a subway but only needed it for Arlington and one other thing. Staff were good making people feel welcome and keeping the place under control. There is a small super market practically next store and an urban 'Safeway' about 20 minutes walk away, as well as a liquor store a few doors down. It has a decent kitchen. The air conditioning worked well so even in the 12 bed room, it was quite comfortable at night.
Disliked: There are lockers in each of the rooms but individual rooms are not secured. This wasn't a problem but it mightn't suit some people. The hostel is a bit of a maze, not a real issue, just saying. There are bathrooms on all levels but sometimes it could be a chore to find one.
