Superb
Liked: Very good and more coffee on request
Disliked: Evening meal next to a music speaker on a shelf next to the table, when for a quiet meal not being forced to endure music while talking to the wife

Two day break
Liked: Set in beautiful surroundings, and close to Sandsend Beach, which is very picturesque, with a lovely cafe on the seafront. The cakes are delicious! We have been very happy with our stay, service and value for money. The meals were very tasty, and the staff were polite and courteous at all times.
Disliked: The gardens are unfortunately suffering a little, due to the recent hot spell but the surroundings were still lovely. It's our 3rd visit to Dunsley and in latter times the garden has hosted some beautiful blooms.

Splendid. We had a great...
Liked: Everything went well. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The food for breakfast and dinner was splendid. The hotel has a fine bar and lounge and attractive gardens. We knew we would only have a double bed and had hoped we could have an extra single bed, but our room (No. 11) was one of the last to be booked and was probably the only cramped one on offer. It was in the attic of the hotel and having initially been promised an extra bed they phoned to say there wasn't room for it, but we went ahead anyway. This, for us, was the only minus factor. Very pleased to have visited and we would go again, but we need twin beds or a double and a single next time.
Disliked: Just our cramped bedroom. Its en suite bathroom was as big as the bedroom. We visited during hot weather. We opened the windows, but there was no window near the bed.

Disappointing and had said it...
Liked: House and room was lovely. Very clean.
Disliked: Room had no information pack about TV, meal times etc.No phone in room for reception, No tissues or gowns and no biscuits.Pillows need renewing, one was like a floppy bag of stuffing. Breakfast: not much choice. Fruit was two types of melon. No cakes or croissant. No sauces or marmalade - had to ask. White sliced bread only.Dinner: no prices on menu. you are forced to pay £35 each for 3 course meal but we only wanted something light. We ate out so had to drive to Sandsend.Bar: no price list on show. Charged on bill £5.75 for. 60 pence can of Strongbow. On leaving they added £70 for dinner which we didn’t have. The atmosphere in the house is dreary. The bar is dead, no music, flowers or candles.

If we hadn't needed internet...
Liked: Nice hotel, and location, good breakfast with plenty of choice. Room was very pleasant with french doors giving a nice view of the garden.
Disliked: We needed to have internet access, for personal reasons, but there was no signal in the room, or anywhere else in the hotel apart from one spot in the foyer. I was able to go online for a while, but my wife never managed to get a signal. If you need internet, suggest you book a different hotel.Didn't like the lumpy mattress, odd springing at the edges.
