The Spotlight on Dunollie Hotel 'A Bespoke Hotel'

Peaceful Sea Views and Highland Charm Near Skye’s Scenic Sounds

Modern comfort meets rugged Highland beauty at the Dunollie Hotel 'A Bespoke Hotel', nestled in Broadford on the Isle of Skye. With sweeping views over Loch Kishorn and the Applecross Hills, this relaxed waterfront hotel is a serene base for concert-goers looking to unwind in nature after a night of live music. Rooms are clean and spacious, with tea and coffee facilities, TVs, and some featuring private bathrooms and loch views. The hotel adds Highland flair with local malt whiskies and the occasional dolphin sighting from the restaurant.

Why Concert-goers love it

While not in the heart of a major city, this hotel is perfect for fans attending small, scenic Skye gigs or festivals. It’s peaceful and quiet, so recovery after a high-energy show is guaranteed. The 3:00 PM check-in and 11:00 AM check-out offer just enough flexibility for a weekend trip. Easy road access to venues around the island means you can enjoy the show, then retreat to your loch-side room in under an hour.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends exploring Skye’s natural beauty and music scene
Solo travelers making a music-inspired Highland pilgrimage
Couples after a romantic gig weekend by the water
Fans wanting quiet and nature to recover from a show
Budget-conscious music fans who don’t mind a short scenic drive to events

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant serves local fare with panoramic sea views – perfect for a relaxed dinner after a concert. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the hotel bar offers a solid selection of local ales and whiskies for a post-show nightcap. Breakfast is available, letting you sleep in and still fuel up before your next adventure.

Nightlife Options

The atmosphere is more laid-back than lively, ideal for those wanting a slower pace after a gig. The hotel bar is a cozy spot to sample a dram of whisky or chat with other music-lovers. For more nightlife, the drive to nearby pubs and venues makes for a scenic ride.

What People Say

Guests praise the incredible views and peaceful setting, especially the loch-facing rooms. Many mention the friendly staff and the value for money. It’s not a luxury hotel, but the charm, cleanliness, and Highland hospitality make it memorable for the price.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the decor is a little dated and WiFi is only available in the lounge. If you’re hoping to stream your favorite band’s setlist from your room, consider downloading it first. There’s also no gym or spa – but with the island’s natural beauty, you won’t miss it.

The Bottom Line

For music-lovers seeking tranquility, views, and a touch of Highland magic, Dunollie Hotel is a scenic and soulful stay after any concert on Skye.

It did the job but...

Liked: Breakfast was good, the staff were lovely
Disliked: The price. There were elements that felt cheapskate - poor quality loo roll, a box of tissues with 1 tissue in, no biscuits with the tea/coffee, no hook or rail in the bathroom for the hand towel. These are minor things but for over £200 for one night I would have expected that bit extra. I've had no issues like this with other places that have only charged £90 a night for B&B, (and have had sufficient parking).
