The Spotlight on Duisdale House Hotel

Luxury Boutique Charm with a Highlands Backdrop

Modern comfort meets historic character at the Duisdale House Hotel, a family-run, award-winning boutique stay on Skye’s southern Sleat Peninsula. Set in a former hunting lodge with sweeping sea loch views and mountain backdrops, this hotel blends traditional Scottish charm with contemporary touches. Just a 10-minute drive from Broadford, it's well-placed for exploring Skye and attending events at nearby venues or distilleries.

Why Concert-goers love it

Whether you're catching live music in Broadford or venturing to a local festival, Duisdale House offers a peaceful place to unwind post-show. Rooms are thoughtfully soundproofed for a quiet night’s rest, and check-in from 15:00 and check-out until 11:00 give you flexibility after a late night. The stylish lounge and bar are ideal for a nightcap, and the remote location means minimal city noise—perfect for recovering in style.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends will love the cozy communal areas, while solo travelers can enjoy a peaceful retreat with luxury touches. It’s perfect for couples planning a romantic concert weekend, and fans needing a quiet escape after a high-energy show. While it’s not the cheapest stay on the island, it does offer great value for budget-conscious music fans looking for a memorable experience.

Food and Drink Options

Duisdale House boasts an award-winning restaurant with 2 AA Rosettes, focusing on fresh local ingredients—ideal for a pre-show dinner or post-concert indulgence. The elegant lounge and stylish bar serve local gins and whiskies, and while there’s no 24/7 room service, the team is known for helpful hospitality. Breakfast is available and worth lingering over after a late night.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, its bar offers a refined atmosphere to continue the night with a dram of malt whisky. For more action, Broadford’s pubs and lounges are just a short drive away, and the nearby Torabhaig Distillery is great for daytime tastings and events.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the scenic views, comfortable beds, and exceptional dining. Reviewers love the friendly, personal service and the peaceful setting. Many note that it’s a great base for exploring Skye, with a real sense of luxury without losing warmth.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention the location is a bit remote, so having a car is helpful—especially if attending shows further afield. Also, while the opulence is praised, those expecting a nightlife hub on-site may find it a little too tranquil.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers looking to pair music with a serene, luxury escape on Skye, Duisdale House Hotel offers the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and Highland hospitality.

Top price, but not top...

Liked: We stayed in a lodge, which was nice. No neighbours, really quiet, loved it. The bathroom was wonderful.
Disliked: The room itself was not overly big and a but crowded with furniture. My main ‘problem’ was that I felt the staff did not treat each customer equal and I felt at times a slight disdain. How different other customers were treated, who arrived the next day in Ferrari’s! I was always taught never to assume something about someone, based on looks, but this staff didn’t get the memo.Oh, and the first day the eggs benedict resembled hard boiled eggs. The second day they were almost good.

Road trip through the Scottish...

Liked: A gem of a retreat- beautiful location, gardens & rooms, super service and exceptional food and parking!
Disliked: The room was exceptionally hot. Windows couldn't open due to the miggies (beautiful summer weather) but a large fan would have been so welcome.
