Home away from home
Liked: We loved the location and how kind the staff are. When we checked in there was a line wrapped around the lobby. Even though it was very annoying having to wait in line for over 30 minutes I understand they had employees call out due to the ice storm. But I do want to give major props to one of the ladies checking people in (she has short dark hair). She encountered 2 very rude guests and handled it with kindness, respect, and patience. Even when the customers went off she did not react.
Disliked: Our room constantly smelt like weed! Our room was not clean at all... the sink wouldn?t drain, the fridge was nasty and covered in sticky stuff, the floors and couch had giant stains on them, the tables had sticky stuff all over them too, and the remote for the sitting area tv was not working. We have stayed several times at the Drury Plaza Hotel and never had an issue before this stay.

Liked: I liked the newness and the location. The check in process was simple and clear. All staff had face masks on correctly. The option to order in from the kitchen was good.
Disliked: At 6am the co2 alarm stated chirping. I called the front desk and they were apologetic, but said the hotel had a bad batch of the detectors and this had happened before. They assured me that there was no alarm and it was a faulty detector. Also, there really wasn't any way to stop or reset it. I was told the manager comes in at 7am and would handle making things right. I was there for work and had several online meetings where I was asked about the chirping. (Not a good thing to explain to several different groups of people). When I left to go downstairs to complain again to the front desk, I met Emily (Think that's her name), a manager and I told her about the chirping. She had it fixed while I was out for other meetings and lunch. For resolution, it took about 6+ hours. I was not happy about it waking me up early and having to explain what the sound was over and over. I think the front desk could have done a better follow up job and not just accepted this as something they couldn't do anything about. The stay at the hotel was good, but during work hours, this was a big inconvenience. I chose this hotel because of the newness, the polite staff I had encountered from business before, and the location. I'd stay again, but I will ask if they have replaced the co2 detectors before booking.

Liked: Hotel does have a lot of amenities like heated pool. Open bar. Gym and restaurant that stays open until 12.
Disliked: I reserved a king suite but got there and had to get a double bed room. Staff said it was because of the power outage and people stayed over. Which I understand. The room was just plain. Bed wasn't comfortable at all. It rocked with every movement. Sheets had lent balls which is very uncomfortable to sleep on.
