1 night stay
Liked: 1 lady behind reception very nice & pleasant. Breakfast was good.
Disliked: Room wasn't the cleanest. Bedding had lots of hairs on it.Paid for 4 evening meals.Food was so poor I wouldn't give it to my dog.Complained to a waiter with blonde streaked hair .He raised his eyebrows and stayed silent then walked off. Very rude.Cups & glasses at reception not the cleanest

Passable
Liked: Breakfast choice was good.
Disliked: During heatwave towel rail was very hot. Staff said could not be turned off. Was very uncomfortable. Lack of cleaning. Bins not emptied. No clean towels. Had to reuse.. Did not see any signs of cleaning staff the 3 days we were there. Seemed to be short staffed.

A basic hotel in Bury...
Liked: Convenient location. Decent coffee and bar staff. Staff friendly. Comfortable bed. Shower worked fine. My booking through booking.com was honoured.
Disliked: Very expensive and poor vfm. Old fashioned room, tiny bathroom, shower in bath, no aircon, poor lighting. Chaotic feel to the place, especially management/reservations. Breakfast self service relies on one coffee machine - no marmalade or jams until requested. Insufficient staff? Saw one couple evicted from a double booked room they had paid for - astounding muddle.

Fairly mediocre
Liked: The bed was comfortable.
Disliked: Bedrooms were small. No shelves or drawers in bedroom so clothes needed to stay packed or left on the floor. No hooks either in bathroom. Limited hanging for clothes. Bar ran out of most wine and beer and there were no bottles of water to purchase because they had run out of water too!

Shabby hotel and generally poor...
Liked: Location was convenient for Bury St. Edmunds but proximity to the busy A14 made sitting outside a problem. Breakfast was acceptable.
Disliked: The bar ran out of most draft beers and all Sauvignon Blanc wine for the entirety of our stay of 3 nights. There was a large Sainsbury’s about 200 metres away! Generally shabby. The rooms were only cleaned every 5 days so towels became too used and the bins were full
