Originally built in 1818 this beautifully restored country house is set in 10 acres of grounds 15 minutes' drive north of Alnwick. The award-winning property has been awarded 4 AA red stars and offers state-of-the-art spa facilities luxuriously furnished bedrooms and an award-winning restaurant. Featuring a swimming pool 2 spa baths a sauna and steam room Doxford Hall Hotel and Spa also features 5 treatment rooms. The property offers a range of therapeutic and beauty treatments using products from the holistic vegan spa brand Ytsara. With satellite TV and a marble bathroom each bedroom is decorated with rich fabrics and period-style furniture. Rooms are each named after a Northumbrian castle and many enjoy views of the estate. Overlooking the Doxford Hall estate the George Runciman Restaurant has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for its creative menu made using fresh local produce. Afternoon Teas are also served in the Georgian Room. The scenic coastline's lovely sandy beaches are 10 minutes' drive away through tranquil farmland. One slice of bacon

Liked: Nice gardens
Disliked: I only ordered bacon for breakfast and was served one slice of bacon. For £200+ per night one would expect at least 2 slices of bacon, possibly 3. One slice (3 mouthfuls)for an entire breakfast is ridiculous and frankly insulting.

Hotel has a very large...

Liked: The service was fantastic and food was excellent could not find fault
Disliked: If you are driving electric car you may have problems with the charging point luckily if you have a Tesla there are charging points six miles north the charging point is not owned by the hotel so sadly they cannot control any problems you have

We had a great stay...

Liked: Breakfast was great with a good choice. Service was also excellent, quick and efficient.
Disliked: The noise from the wedding reception. I would not stay there for a weekend.
