A great place to stay

Liked: Front desk is always available. The lady at the front is super sweet and she accommodated me and let me stay after check out time. The place is clean and location is good.
Disliked: Nothing.

Not a dream place, but...

Liked: Staff was really helpful and friendly. It was a prime location. Bed was really comfortable. Internet was working perfectly.
Disliked: There was no elevator and the room was a bit dirty. There was a bad smell (smoke and food) in the whole building, people were smoking in the hallway. Floor was making lot of noise while walking and walls were really thin so we could hear all the noises from outside.

Liked: Location was good. Staff was friendly
Disliked: Was noisy because of the trams. A little old but for the price it was ok.

Exceptional

Exceeded our expectations

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay. It's in a great location to explore downtown Portland. The staff were outstanding - so helpful, very happy to give us tips about public transport, good places to visit and did whatever they could to make our stay comfortable. We had a car to park and they went to lengths to help us do that. The room was very comfortable and clean. It is an old style motel and had a few signs of age, but it had everything that we needed. I was travelling with my son and his partner and we were all treated wtih great respect. Thanks for a great stay.

Not Great

Liked: Big room
Disliked: It was so noisy the pizza place next door took the dolly up and down the stairs multiple times about 15 steps each way at 2-3 am, and they went in and out the door slamming it each time. The family above us walked back and forth many times when we were trying to sleep at 9pm, and they woke up at 6am racing around trying to get their stuff together to leave. It would have been nice for the front desk to disclose that the pizza place is that noisy and working that early in the morning. Also they only have 1 room that is on the lowest floor with 2 sets of 3 steps otherwise you have to climb those steps and 20 more steps to get to the next floor. So there is no elevator not good for anyone who's disabled.

We enjoyed our stay but...

Liked: The staff was super kind amd helpful in all belongings.
Disliked: The room 'smelled' and was not completly clean.
