DoubleTree by Hilton York

Paid around £270 for 1 night stay not including breakfast. No parking available at hotel and £25 a night for the 14 or so bays. That’s over £300 a night for the hotel. No fridge in the room which was a complimentary upgrade. Another night booked there later in the year, it will be the last. noticed a brand new Premier Inn a few hundred yards away, will use that thereafter.

Liked: It is a nice hotel in a good location.
Disliked: Price of one night stay. Parking charge and no fridge.

Neat place but needs updating.

Liked: Loved the location and the staff. Restaurant in the hotel and good pub across the street.
Disliked: The rooms smelled musty and the air conditioning didn’t work in one room.

Disliked: Dated tatty room, stained carpet, poorly lit room, not enough mirrors, window handle fell off. Paid a lot for an unpleasant room

Bad

Disliked: Paid for a double bed and got 2 singles pushed together with 1 mattress lower than the other creating a divide for what was ment too be a nice romantic stay.

Fab Hotel, lovely staff!

Liked: Its a great hotel, the staff are super friendly! I had a deluxe room, nice and clean, spacious. Location is fab, very close to town, there is onsite parking available but I arrived later in the evening so it was full, but was quickly directed to closer parking facilities. 24 hour gym facility is available, - could do with blinds in the gym rather than everyone able to see you working out!
Disliked: The A/C in the room wasn't working , luckily a fan was provided. It was hot during the day but cooled down in the evening, but this week is supposed to be really hot so hotel needs to ensure the AC is working for future.

Disliked: We have stayed before …..but wasn’t as good as last time …we were charged £25 a night for parking but couldn’t park on the last night…..we were put in rooms that were equipped for disabled…..although large they were so dark not enough lights…… like a conservatory at the front….woken up at 6.30 on Sunday by a bottle collection - the noise was horrendous …..woken up every morning with rubbish collections of some sort…..the breakfast was not good either - cold bacon hard and sausages not cooked - last time it was excellent …..cut up tasteless water melon & tinned pineapple …had to ask for Orange Juice at 9 am!!!!!!
