The Spotlight on DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown

Stylish Downtown Comfort Just Steps from Toronto’s Music Scene

Modern, comfortable, and right in the heart of downtown Toronto, the DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown is a smart pick for music fans wanting to stay near the action. With the Eaton Centre, subway access, and major concert venues all within walking distance, it’s a convenient base with everything you need, including a heated indoor pool, 24-hour fitness center, and warm cookies at check-in.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re just a short walk or one quick subway ride from major venues like Massey Hall, Scotiabank Arena, and Queen Street’s live music bars. The nearby St. Patrick Subway Station means late-night travel is easy, even after an encore. While the area is buzzing with nightlife, rooms are well-insulated, offering a quiet retreat once the show ends. The 4pm check-in is perfect for arriving before the gig, and the 11am check-out gives you time to sleep in after a long night.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends who want to explore Toronto’s vibrant music scene together
Solo travelers catching a dream concert and wanting a safe, central base
Couples planning a romantic weekend with a show on the itinerary
Fans looking for a quiet, comfy space to recharge after a loud night
Budget-conscious music lovers who want value without sacrificing location

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant serves up tasty meals, and nearby Chinatown and Kensington Market offer tons of late-night eats just minutes away. If you’re too tired to head out, in-room dining is available. Rooms with kitchenettes are a bonus for those who prefer to prep their own snacks. Breakfast is available and well-timed for those recovering from a late-night show.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t have a live music venue, you’re within walking distance of Toronto’s buzzing nightlife. Bars along Queen Street, cozy speakeasies, and live music lounges surround the area. For something more low-key, relax at the hotel’s lounge with a drink before or after the concert.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s central location, friendly staff, and clean, comfortable rooms. The warm cookie welcome adds a personal touch, and many mention how easy it is to walk or hop on the subway to get to concerts. The suites with kitchens are popular with longer-stay visitors and those wanting to save on dining out.

Areas for Improvement

Parking comes with a fee, and some guests note that the underground garage can be a bit tight. While the hotel is central, this does mean things can feel busy during peak city hours — though that’s part of the energy of downtown Toronto!

The Bottom Line

If you want to stay near Toronto’s top venues with comfort, convenience, and a little extra cookie-fueled charm, DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown hits all the right notes.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Otis, Toronto, visiting Scotiabank Arena Mon, 10 April 2023

Horrible service wait and rooms/beds of a budget motel quality; I guess that's what Doubletree is now. They offered no comp despite extensive wait that caused us to miss our dinner reservations. Will never consider staying at a Doubletree again.

Liked: Location.
Disliked: Service (Vegas type lineup to check-in) and rooms are extremely tired; bed mattresses were horrible (sunken and lumpy). And rooms were small for the price.

An enjoyable stay with amazingly...

Liked: We enjoyed our 6 night stay at this hotel with it being a good location for us to attend Blue Jay games.
Disliked: The one thing I wouldn’t do again is have their buffet breakfast. Highly priced for what is offered. Little to no staff. Dishes piled up on the bar with people being seated by these dirty dishes to have their breakfast.
