We had a great stay...

Liked: We liked that the room was very spacious and that the ensuite washroom was very clean as well. We were also pleasantly greeted with fresh cookies upon our check-in. Check-in was also very prompt which we appreciated. Photos of the room are accurate.
Disliked: Limited free parking on the property. There is underground parking available but we would need to make a separate payment for it. Otherwise, nothing much to complain about.

Disappointing stay for our birthdays

Liked: Comfortable bed and good service from staff at the Grill
Disliked: . Take note despite the Hilton name (part of this branding) - its not Hilton - I didn’t see the real Hilton in our Booking.com options so we innocently mistook this place to be the it and incorrectly expecting an hotel with all amenities by the lake. It’s not and amenities aren’t for share except the GrillThis place is only an uncharacteristically dull wing to the right of THE Hilton resort and it’s way back from the lakeNo cosy nooks or comfortable areas at all available for enjoymentUpon arrival we were placed in a room with a small glimpse view of the lake (expecting we have full Lakeview). The room was sizeable neverthelessAnd to our surprise we were also asked for $500 deposit on the spot along with our credit card details (this wasn’t communicated to us beforehand)We used a travel card to avoid the excessive international bank fees and this deposit stuffed up our financial arrangement. We did transfer more money after this on Saturday and it was not until Wednesday the fund was made available on travel card due to long Easter weekend. This put us inconvenience at the first few days on our holidayWhen we raised this issue on next day - the receptionist (Aldridge) had the audacity trying to educate me it’s a norm!I travel regularly interstate and overseas and stayed in many kind of hotels (some were nearly double the price than this) and I can say this is NOT the norm! Maybe in his Hilton world it is.They should have told us before upon our booking. It’s a common and simple courtesyHe was also blaming me for choosing standard room (cheapest) thus we got bad view but as far I remember when I booked, I can’t recall diff $ avail and I wasn’t advised that the room has limited lake view. if I knew I would have paid more $The room was for Aud $350 a night approx and isn’t good value at all.An extra $150 a night will be worth paying it if we don’t have to deal with hotel staff with this attitude and the branding shouldn’t have confused us with Hilton!

The third floor has more...

Liked: The location near the airport is convenient. The breakfast was very good. We were pleasantly surprised.
Disliked: The boat taxi to Queenstown was not running. The furniture is worn and tattered and needs replacing.

Disappointed

Liked: I do hate to complain however for a premium product this was a let down. At about $300 per night plus a further charge for parking bringing it close to $300 you do expect better.Air conditioning didn’t work despite attempts by staff to fix, lounge in room was terrible.. way too soft and unsupportive. Balcony was useless as it was occupied by the non working air-conditioning unit and as we stayed 2 nights we expected our room to be serviced.. not the fact. Our room was Un serviced, no fresh towels no bed made no rubbish removed no vacuuming.Staff were pleasant, breakfast was ok and view ok. It’s well away from Queenstown central .As I say more is expected of a Premium Product
