Liked: We often stay at the Doubletree when we are in Modesto. It is consistently a good place to stay.
Disliked: I used the Hilton app to check in, and when I arrived I was given my key to the room I chose. When I got to the room, 2 members of housekeeping were seated in the room chatting. They had no idea that the room was reserved and they hadn't finished cleaning it. When they left someone from housekeeping came and knocked on the door asking me if I was sure that I had checked in correctly, which I had. Then I noticed a very strong bleach smell so I asked for a different room. The room I received was on a much lower floor, which is not what I wanted. This was a disappointing way to start my stay. I was in town for a funeral, so I had been looking forward to a relaxing arrival at the hotel. I felt stressed by housekeeping and the bleachy smell triggered my asthma. I did receive a free breakfast to make up for the misunderstanding, but I expected better from Doubletree.
