En route to Avignon
Liked: Not a bad hotel, but not amazing to get to as the drivers in Lyon are awful! Comfy bed and a good stop on the way to our destination of the south of france.
Disliked: Felt like we were a little out of place or not their usual clientele. Wasn't made very welcome so it all felt a little off. Lyon feels a little unsafe too so we weren't all that confident in our choice of hotel. Breakfast wasn't up to scratch either. The scrambled eggs looked like porridge and we had better breakfasts at much cheaper hotels. It felt a little pretentious.

Liked: Overall, it was a stressful and disappointing experience. The room was not properly cleaned — the shower had visible traces of mold, and the TV remote was dirty and encrusted, which raised serious concerns about hygiene standards. To make matters worse, the restaurant and bar manager was unexpectedly aggressive, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy any part of my visit due to these issues.
Disliked: We arrived at the hotel and were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff, who were polite and highly professional — exactly what you would expect from a Hilton property.However, our experience quickly deteriorated when we approached the restaurant reception to view the menu, as we had been advised to book in advance. The staff member who greeted us (a shorter woman with black hair, possibly named Anissa — her name tag was barely visible) looked at us with disdain, almost as if she held some sort of prejudice. She handed us only one menu, despite us being two people, and behaved with a visible lack of courtesy.It left us wondering — was it because I was wearing motorcycle gear? Or simply because I’m Italian?Later that evening, I went to the bar around 9:50 PM to order a drink. Once again, the same staff member told us the bar was closed. When I politely pointed out that the sign in the lobby stated the bar closes at midnight, she responded rudely and flatly refused to serve us.Strangely enough, just five minutes later, a couple arrived — one of them seemed like a regular guest — and the same staff member quickly got up to greet them warmly and served them drinks without hesitation.Once seated at the bar, my friend and I also learned from another couple at the next table that they had experienced the same kind of treatment, confirming that our case wasn’t isolated.Fortunately, another staff member arrived shortly after and, with kindness and professionalism, offered us a drink as a courtesy before closing the bar — the only redeeming moment in an otherwise disappointing experience.I want to stress that most of the hotel staff were professional and respectful, but the conduct of this particular employee left us feeling discriminated against and unwelcome — something that should never happen in a hotel that carries the Hilton name.
