Liked: We had a nice 3 night stay at the Doubletree. Location is excellent for Chelsea and the museums, perfect for us and we found it easy to park close by. The staff were all great and very helpful indeed, particularly when we ate in the restaurant on the first night and they were overly attentive to my allergies . We were greeted on arrival with cookies including a vegan option for me. The bar was nice and we had one drink in there every evening. The gardens at the rear were lovely with the addition of the pods although we didn’t have the chance to book one of these. The room was spacious and very clean. The foyer was bright, clean and modern and it felt like a safe hotel.
Disliked: Sadly there were a few things that didn’t make for the perfect stay. The 2 lifts were dodgy with one completely out of order for our stay so it meant a little bit of waiting around. The one working lift has to think about it and flashed up as out of order whilst we were in it at one point. Although the room was spacious and clean, all 3 of us had backache from the beds and the temperature seemed to be controlled centrally, certainly not easy in the room. Every time we went into the room, there was bit of a damp smell but you did get used to it quickly. There was no additional chain or lock on the door, you could see where it had been broken off. We seemed to have an interconnected room and on our first night this door was open and on the third night we could hear the entire conversation of others until the early hours . I’m not sure but I thought I saw staff going into that room. We feel these issues make the hotel sound far worse than it was overall and actually we would possibly stay there again ( in a different room ) if we need to stay in the same area.

Disliked: One of the elevators was not working during our stay and that made getting in and out of hotel extremely difficult ! There was long queue every time we had to take the elevator

Liked: Great location… nice renovated rooms
Disliked: Manager asked for a deposit of 50£ charge per night.. claiming it is hotel policy and that it is shown on my booking… which would be 300£When I showed him my booking confirmation and proved it’s only 50£ per stay not per joght, he was still refused to admit, and ended up charging us 100£.Managers should he able to manage such situations not be stubborn with a client paying 2,000£ for their stay…Also, the rates were quite high considering
