Below par, and not what...

Liked: Good location which is close to the DLR. Well presented reception area which on the surface looked clean.
Disliked: Our room was extremely smelly and not very clean. The smell got worse once we turned down and subsequently, off the air con which was very loud. The staff were ok on check in but didn’t take the time to ask about our stay on checking out. We wanted to offer feedback the receptionist took our key and continued with his morning duties. Parking on site was full, we therefore used the Novotel.

single person one day stay

Liked: quick and easy to check in, clean facilities, helpful staff, nice room but it could do with a bit of more space. I would not mind a single bed and more moving space around than the double I had and marginally walk along one side only, the other being immediately next to the wall.
Disliked: I had booked a single bedroom since I was on business travel alone. I was given a room which had the possibility to become interconnected with an adjacent room; the in between doors were of course locked. However the sound insulation was not existent; I could hear the TV playing, the people talking, snoring, coughing, their phones ringing as if we shared the same room. I slept very badly through the night. I was not expecting this from Hilton.

Liked: I love this hotel. Had stayed before and so was looking forward to staying again.. Imagine my disappointment when I was given a room that looked over air conditioning units , had a big brown mark on the carpet and dust everywhere. I did asked to be moved and this was rectified. But I still remember the first room offered. Why was I offered such a sub standard room in the first place. Did I not deserve to be treated better. Was this because I was on my own, and they thought they could get away with this.
Disliked: As above. Did appreciate the staff who were being trained in the bar area, really doing their best, unlike the reception desk who wanted me to settle with a sub standard room.
