Liked: Didn’t order an accessible room, didn’t want one, bed extremely lumpy and uncomfortable got veryLittle sleep.Tried to speak with staff but not interested

Excellent stay in a beautiful...
Liked: The hotel was in a nice location by the water. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was also decent. There was a great deal of choice for breakfast - hot and cold and the staff was very attentive. Food was well cooked and well displayed.We loved Lincoln - the cathedral and castle were amazing and there was a lively buzz around the town. Good and plentiful shops, cafes and restaurants. We will definitely return!

Unsatisfactory, won’t be returning

Disliked: Air con didn’t work, couldn’t be resolved so had to sleep in a very hot, stuffy & uncomfortable room. Toilet didn’t flush properly & on Sunday morning completely blocked & started pouring dirty water onto the floor & my feet

Noisy function room above our...
Liked: Staff were very helpful when we first arrived and needed somewhere to change before a wedding.
Disliked: We were staying in a ‘deluxe king size room’ which it transpired was directly below a function room. We were given no prior warning that our room was below a function room, and that a function would be on that evening.We returned to our room for the evening to go to bed sometime between 10pm and 11pm. we could hear a DJ playing loud music, and the people in attendance were singing and dancing right above our heads. My husband rang reception, who informed us that there was a function on and that it would be on until midnight. They offered us no solutions to this. when the function finally stopped at midnight we could still hear tidying up, the scraping of chairs etc until 1am. I can’t believe a hotel would put a function room above a guest room! You could hear it in the hallway, and inside our room so clearly. It’s clear the hotel prioritises the money made from the function room over their hotel guests. On checkout we complained and reception said she we would give us a full refund, but because we went through booking.com we would have to claim it through them. I did this and received no official response from The Hilton, only a message saying I had received £25 !! A fraction of the cost of the room. I am pregnant and my husband and I were really looking forward to a good night sleep. we don’t get much sleep at home due to having a child with complex needs. Instead of a good night sleep in a decent hotel, we had to lay in bed listening to what might as well have been a night club above our head. Then to add insult to injury you couldn’t even compensate us for more than £25. We will never stay here again.

Lincoln Castle concert stay
Liked: Nice location on waterfront
Disliked: No USB sockets in the room (something you expect to see these days)Difficult to find car park and vey tight spaces which meant had to climb into drivers seat from passenger side due to being blocked in

We really enjoyed our stay.
Liked: The location was lovely. The hotel nice. Breakfast was delicious. The bathroom having shampoo and conditioner was brilliant. Staff were attentive and nice.
Disliked: The room was dark. The bathroom grout was dirty. The window was not clean. The shower head was limescale But I’m probably being critical.
