Pleasant but noisy

Disliked: Noise - I always request a quiet room (I stay at the hotel 2-3x a month) I usually request a high floor room away from lifts. This is not always provided and the hotel is particularly noisy at present due to renovations. Drilling started at 8am!Temperature control - the hotel room is always freezing, even when switching the air conditioning off, It comes back on autonatically in the morning.

Disliked: I wasn’t aware until after I had booked that there was work taking place on the exterior, noise wasn’t an issue from that, but as I checked into my room there were 2 men working directly outside my room which was awkward. Initially a lot of the channels on the tv were ‘out of signal’. Oh my second night there was a lot of thumping that came with loud music, I called down to reception who advised that there was a 21st birthday happening in the conference centre and ‘hopefully they weren’t going to there all night’. I could hear other guests in the hallway of the floor I was on complaining as well. Serious disruption, didn’t sleep till after midnight when the music stopped. Ultimately, had I known this was taking place, I would have stayed elsewhere as I was already having a stressful time travelling and this did not help. Gave it a 5 because the room itself was nice and bed was comfy.

Liked: Very modern, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very near the centre of town, and also near the Thames if you fancy a walk along the river. Pleasant bar area.
Disliked: Nothing really, but it lacks a bit of character.
