The Spotlight on DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central

Stylish Comfort in Glasgow’s Cultural Heart

Modern and welcoming, the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central is a 4-star hotel in the heart of the city, just a short stroll from Glasgow Central Rail Station and key music venues. With a sleek style and warm Scottish hospitality, it’s a great base for exploring Glasgow by day and diving into its legendary live music scene by night.

Whether you're here for a weekend gig or a midweek show, the hotel’s central location and relaxing amenities make it a favorite among concert-goers.

Why Concert-goers love it

The hotel’s location is a major win — just minutes from Glasgow Central and Queen Street stations, and close to major venues like the Hydro and SECC. After the show, head back to a quiet, comfy room that's set away from street noise. With a 12:00pm checkout, you can sleep in after a late night. The on-site parking (for a fee) and nearby public transport options make getting around simple, even after dark.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a convenient and stylish crash pad
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of a show
  • Fans seeking peace and quiet after high-energy gigs
  • Budget-conscious music lovers wanting comfort and value

Food and Drink Options

Hungry after a gig? The hotel’s Cask and Clyde Restaurant, helmed by award-winning chef Stewart Goldie, serves up delicious meals, while the Cask Bar offers cocktails into the evening. While there's no 24/7 room service, the central location means late-night bites are just a short walk away. Breakfast is available in the morning — ideal for those slow starts after a big night.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, you’re within easy reach of Glasgow’s top nightlife spots. From buzzing pubs to laid-back lounges, the area around Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street offers plenty of post-show options. Prefer to stay in? The Cask Bar is a great place to wind down with a local craft drink.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, and excellent location for both concerts and city exploring. Many mention the pool and spa amenities as a welcome bonus after a long day (or night). The warm cookie at check-in is a small but much-loved touch.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the decor is a little dated in parts, and that parking fees can add up. Still, most agree the overall value and comfort make up for it.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to Glasgow for a concert, the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central offers the location, comfort, and convenience every music fan needs.

Connor, Glasgow

We were not too sure what to expect from the outside but were pleasantly surprised by the rooms - spacious and very comfortable. We had not intended to stay for breakfast but changed our minds on arrival. Great night's sleep - beds very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. We will definitely book again - would recommend to anyone looking for extremely good value for money to book Glasgow City Hotel. You will be as pleasantly surprised as we were.

Liked: The room was lovely - clean and fresh.
Disliked: Nothing we stayed for breakfast as well.

Very clean; staff very helpful. Great central hotel for shops and theatres; would recommend to friends and stay there again.

Disliked: Slight musty smell in the room - perhaps previously a smoking room.

Very expensive for the poor...

Disliked: breakfast is poor, very little fruit no fried eggs, poor quality sausagesThe executive room did not even have a bottle of water or Mini barThis hotel has obviously cut back, and for over £200 a night stay I'll definitely go elsewhere next time

Okay - but could be...

Liked: Comfortable room
Disliked: No cookies on arrival - price of stay (have booked exact same room before and for a visit later in the year for a much lower price!) - cost of parking - gone up substantially since last year. Staff at breakfast who booked us in and seated us looked bored and weren't very friendly.

Great location but expensive for...

Liked: Location is great for Buchanan bus station, shops and restaurants. The beds are very comfortable. Clean hotel with friendly reception team.
Disliked: We arrived at 3pm which is check in time after a long journey from the North Highlands, we were informed our room wasnt ready yet and were offered a room with a smaller 2nd bed. We accepted as we were exhausted from the journey but not the room we paid for and no goodwill gesture offered for the inconvenience. No hard copy of info pack/room service menu in the bedrooms. It is a wooden block with a QR code- which didn't work. Called reception to ask and was informed some systems were down. Asked for a paper copy & extra towels as we were only left 1. Towels were brought to us but no menu. The staff member informed us there was a QR code. I informed him it wasnt working and he just sort of shrugged and said "keep trying it." Gave up on room service. Breakfast is expensive for what it is. Paid £111 on top of room rate for 2x breakfast and 2 days parking. The hotel feels like a slightly fancier Premier Inn but personally didn't feel it was worth the price. Used the pool once and it was so busy you could barely move. Perhaps a limit on number of admissions or booking a timeslot would be a better idea.

Very good

Liked: Clean, good location, comfortable bed
Disliked: The swimming pool was at capacity so we couldnt use it. They don't allocate time slots so we had to wait around for people to leave which never happened so we never got access.
