The Spotlight on DoubleTree By Hilton Dunblane Hydro

Victorian Elegance Meets Modern Comfort in the Scottish Countryside

Nestled in 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, the DoubleTree By Hilton Dunblane Hydro blends Victorian charm with modern comforts. Just a short walk from Dunblane Railway Station and a quick drive to Stirling’s top concert venues, this hotel offers a peaceful retreat with stunning views of the Trossachs. Whether you're in town for a gig or a weekend escape, it's a stylish and relaxing base for your trip.

Why Concert-goers love it

With Dunblane Station only a 15-minute walk away, getting to gigs in Stirling, Glasgow, or even Edinburgh is a breeze. After a night of music, unwind in the peaceful countryside setting, far from city noise. The 12:00 PM checkout lets you sleep in after a late show, and the on-site leisure club makes relaxing easy. Free parking is a bonus if you're driving between venues.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a scenic pre- or post-concert hangout
  • Solo travelers catching a once-in-a-lifetime tour
  • Couples turning a concert into a romantic weekend
  • Fans who want a quieter retreat after the noise and crowds
  • Budget-conscious music lovers sharing a room and saving on transport

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant, The Kailyard by Nick Nairn, serves up elegant Scottish cuisine—perfect for a pre-show dinner or celebratory post-gig meal. Two cozy lounges offer fresh coffee and light bites, and the cocktail bar mixes up classy drinks till late. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the late-night lounges and nearby eateries in Dunblane offer plenty of options. Breakfast is available and worth waking up for—even after a late night.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself leans more toward relaxing than raving, its cocktail bar is a classy spot for a nightcap. Head into Stirling or hop on a short rail ride to Glasgow for buzzing nightlife, live music bars, and clubs. Then return to the hotel for a peaceful night’s sleep.

What People Say

Guests consistently love the peaceful setting and countryside views, calling it a great escape from the city. Reviewers praise the friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and the stylish restaurant. Many mention the pool and wellness facilities as a perfect way to unwind after long travel or a night out.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the building’s historic charm comes with slightly dated décor in parts. Wi-Fi can be spotty in certain areas, and those without a car may find the location a bit remote for late-night returns—though the nearby rail station helps.

The Bottom Line

A scenic and serene stay with easy access to Scotland’s top music hubs—DoubleTree By Hilton Dunblane Hydro is ideal for concert-goers who want both adventure and downtime.

Great Staff, Very Poor Bar...

Liked: Staff couldn't do more to help and the room was clean and comfortable but badly in need of a refresh, frayed carpets etc. It was rm 250.
Disliked: Evening meal was terrible, we didn't get a chance to book into the main restaurant as it was full so we chose the bar food as anything Nick Nairn puts his name to should be good......We both opted for the cod, chips, peas with tartar sauce. After a lengthy delay which in fairness we had been told to expect the food arrived, or more to be exact a plate of soggy chips that were over layed with the cod arrived. Now I'm not a chef, but even I know if you place something hot over chips it will sweat them and they lose their crisp. We waited for the peas and when they were not forth coming ask the server. He went to the kitchen to check and came back to say there were no peas left. It appears that instead of advising us so we could possibly select another meal they just decided to serve an incomplete dish. They also sold a bottle of Malbec which I can buy elsewhere for £11.50 for £45 and it wasn't that great a wine. I understand the need for a mark up, but that was ridiculous! Not sure I'd return.

Loved our stay already planning...

Liked: Location beautiful breakfast very good
Disliked: There was a seating area outside for drinks etc. it was not in keeping with the building. It was a bit cheap looking in front of such a beautiful building. The green advertising banners were not tied down and kept flapping in wind and it just spoiled it. Better not to have it or upgrade rather than cheapening the bloom of the hotel

Lovely stay at Dunblain Hydro

Liked: The staff are exceptional , efficient, pleasant wish all hotel staff were this good. We enjoyed the swimming pool the water was at a perfect temperature. My wife's meal was not up to a good standard, no problem, the young waitress changed the meal without any fuss and promptly.
Disliked: Not much to do after the evening meal but drink in one of the loungers or return to the roomIt would be nice if there was some entertainment , a pianist in the lounge would be pleasant.

Never again!!

Liked: Good location
Disliked: The room very noisy. Did not sleep at all. You can hear next door bathroom like flushing the toilet extractor fan someone having showing. You can someone voice in the bedroom all night. Room number 253 never use that room trust me. It’s right front of the car park you hear everything. Like cars bin lorry delivery van drivers suitcase annoying wheels. The most worst of in the bedroom you can hear water drain pipe outside making ticking ticking so loud. The hallway doors my god opening closing open closing people coming out there rooms. No way never again this place.
