The Spotlight on DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol North

Relaxed Comfort Just Outside the City Beat

Modern, welcoming, and well-connected, the DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol North offers a peaceful retreat just 8 miles from Bristol’s bustling city centre. With easy access to the M4 and M5 motorways, it’s a smart choice for concert-goers looking to stay outside the noise but within reach of the action. The hotel blends comfort and convenience with perks like a heated indoor pool, sauna, and a fitness centre that's open 24/7.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re close enough to the city to catch your favourite band, yet far enough for a quiet night’s sleep. Late check-out at 12:00 PM means you won't need to rush after a late gig. The hotel’s proximity to major motorways also makes it an ideal stop for those travelling in from nearby cities like Cardiff or Bath. With 24-hour room service and a lounge bar that serves Starbucks coffee, you’ll find plenty to refuel post-show.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends road-tripping to a show
- Solo travelers chasing a bucket-list gig
- Couples making a weekend of a concert
- Fans who want peace and quiet after the encore
- Budget-conscious music lovers looking for value just outside the city

Food and Drink Options

Brunel’s Hat restaurant serves up British classics, while the lounge bar offers Starbucks drinks and light bites – ideal for a quick wind-down snack. 24/7 room service means munchies don’t have to wait. Breakfast is available and served late enough for those who sleep in after a big night.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, it's a short drive or train ride to Bristol’s dynamic nightlife scene. You’ll find bars, clubs, and live venues in the city centre, while Cribbs Causeway nearby has restaurants and even a cinema and bowling for pre-show fun.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms, and the warm cookie welcome. The wellness facilities like the pool and sauna are a hit for those nursing tired dancing feet. Travelers also appreciate the easy parking and proximity to key transport links.

Areas for Improvement

The hotel isn’t in the city centre, so you’ll need a short drive or train ride to reach most venues. While the area is quiet, it’s more suburban than scenic – but that’s also what makes it restful.

The Bottom Line

A smart, comfortable base for concert-goers who want to enjoy Bristol’s music scene without the city-centre hustle.

I feel a little short...

Liked: The swimming pool was nice.
Disliked: Limited space for people passing through the breakfast buffet passage. Having to carry a single glass from the table to get breakfast juice - rather put glasses at the juice stand.Very noisy water works/plumbing on the ground floor.

Acceptable

Liked: Breakfast was very nice, Spa was good
Disliked: Wasn't happy to have to pay for parking. The hotel is not in a built up or city centre area, almost industrial so to have to pay for the parking through the night on top of the nights accommodation in my opinion is a scam. If we had left the car for the day i would have accepted however for 8 hours through the night; not happy!

Liked: The staff and breakfast
Disliked: Reception told me that our room had been upgraded which sound good but but when we went into the ground floor room the smell of of bad drains was intolerable. We went back to reception and straightaway they gave us another room on the first floor which was fine.Great breakfast
