The Spotlight on DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol North

Relaxed Comfort Just Outside the City Beat

Modern, welcoming, and well-connected, the DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol North offers a peaceful retreat just 8 miles from Bristol’s bustling city centre. With easy access to the M4 and M5 motorways, it’s a smart choice for concert-goers looking to stay outside the noise but within reach of the action. The hotel blends comfort and convenience with perks like a heated indoor pool, sauna, and a fitness centre that's open 24/7.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re close enough to the city to catch your favourite band, yet far enough for a quiet night’s sleep. Late check-out at 12:00 PM means you won't need to rush after a late gig. The hotel’s proximity to major motorways also makes it an ideal stop for those travelling in from nearby cities like Cardiff or Bath. With 24-hour room service and a lounge bar that serves Starbucks coffee, you’ll find plenty to refuel post-show.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends road-tripping to a show
- Solo travelers chasing a bucket-list gig
- Couples making a weekend of a concert
- Fans who want peace and quiet after the encore
- Budget-conscious music lovers looking for value just outside the city

Food and Drink Options

Brunel’s Hat restaurant serves up British classics, while the lounge bar offers Starbucks drinks and light bites – ideal for a quick wind-down snack. 24/7 room service means munchies don’t have to wait. Breakfast is available and served late enough for those who sleep in after a big night.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, it's a short drive or train ride to Bristol’s dynamic nightlife scene. You’ll find bars, clubs, and live venues in the city centre, while Cribbs Causeway nearby has restaurants and even a cinema and bowling for pre-show fun.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms, and the warm cookie welcome. The wellness facilities like the pool and sauna are a hit for those nursing tired dancing feet. Travelers also appreciate the easy parking and proximity to key transport links.

Areas for Improvement

The hotel isn’t in the city centre, so you’ll need a short drive or train ride to reach most venues. While the area is quiet, it’s more suburban than scenic – but that’s also what makes it restful.

The Bottom Line

A smart, comfortable base for concert-goers who want to enjoy Bristol’s music scene without the city-centre hustle.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Disappointed. Poor cleanliness. Fantastic breakfast

Liked: Beds were really comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic plus the staff in the breakfast area were really friendly and engaging with the children (we were almost late but they welcomed us in) the breakfast area is the cleanest and most comfortable area I’d say. Shame about the rest
Disliked: When we first arrived our names were not on the system - booking.com hadn’t transferred us apparently but after a little wait it was sorted and the staff at reception apologised nicely. Really disappointed with the cleanliness of the room we were in - I had two small children and found it really uncomfortable to relax in. Hairs in the bathroom from previous guests, walls were marked and not cleaned properly, chairs looked so old and also dust everywhere as I could see it on all of the lampshades and lighting and my son has allergies too. We were far too tired with two small children to complain otherwise we would have but we were only staying for a night so we stuck it out. The comfortable beds helped. Everything looks a bit run down and could do with a sprucing up.

Thoroughly recommend this hotel

Liked: Given complementary biscuits on arrival, which were delicious. A personal welcome message from the manager and a box of chocolates in our room. We had a free upgrade to a Superior room, which was a very pleasant surprise. The room was exceptional. We had a meal in the bar. The restaurant was shut. The food was delicious.
Disliked: There was nothing to dislike.
