Highly recommended
Liked: The Cortes room has 2 balconies overlooking the lively, but not noisy, Plaza Santo Domingo. The king sized bed is comfortable. The bathroom shower has both a rainfall shower head and a hand held one. The water pressure is not great but there is plenty of hot water. The onsite restaurant on the upper floor overlooks the plaza. Breakfast is included and there is a varied menu for other meals. All the food we had was delicious. Please note, it is closed on Monday. The staff of both hotel and restaurant could not be more courteous.

Comfy hotel with pleasant staff...
Liked: Stylish hotel with friendly & helpful staff. Get an UPPER room with balcony. Ours was Monteczuma, overlooking the square. Only drawback is the traffic noise and music on Thurs. - Sat. Evenings. Restaurant has wonderful view and view on the square. Food is excellent & well-priced. Nice choice for stays where breakfast is included. We would stay there again if we wanted to be in the central historic district. Huge, comfy bed & linens with daily room service.
Disliked: Hotel & restaurant are separate businesses. Noise from the street due to demonstrations and nature of central district.

Quiet bad exprience
Liked: The hotel was nice, but a few things really bothered us. The cleanliness in the lobby was lacking, the bathroom in the room we were given smelled of cigarettes on the first day, and the elevator didn't work for the first two days, and every time we contacted the receptionists they said it was a problem that would last a few minutes. We really disliked the lack of privacy in the bathroom and shower because their doors were transparent glass doors that weren't insulated from the room.

Well located if a little...
Liked: The location was perfect, walking distance to everything in the Centro Historico. The rooftop restaurant was gorgeous and definitely the highlight and the hotel felt very secure, with 24/7 guards. Things to note - there is basically no soundproofing in the rooms and there is music every night. Also breakfast really varied in quality, day one I was blown away, beautiful fruit salad, cappuccino, fruit juice, choice of bread, omelettes to order. The next day, no choice of bread, no choice of coffee. Also the room had very wobbly stairs and a wobbly banister so one to note for those with disabilities or mobility issues. But it was a good value hotel for the Easter holidays in Mexico City and the staff were lovely.
