Disliked: The windows didn’t shut so the room was cold. The curtains were coming off the curtain tracks. So hung awkwardly. The room was right next to the restaurant.

Liked: our intia room had a spooky feel to it but the front desk person moved us into a different room which was beautiful and very cozy. It was very greek with wooden beams and beautiful bath tub

Unique, clean hotel in the...

Liked: Very unique property in the heart of old Bryggen, reflected in the fantastic original decor and layout. Staff were very helpful, friendly, and the breakfast was beyond expectations. Highly recommend this hotel.
Disliked: Very limited red wine selection, although this doesn’t detract in any way from the quality of this hotel, just a personal note when looking to finish the evening with a nice glass of red wine but having little or no choice.

I wouldn't recommend it and...

Liked: The historic building helps you travel in time, the location is good for discovering most of the touristic points of interest of Bergen and some of the staff members were polite and friendly. A special request for our room selection has been satisfied prior to our arrival. The hotel is clean.
Disliked: The hotel is outdated and really worn out, the furniture is old fashioned and has nothing in common with the charm of the old building. Some of the staff members are really bored to do anything than just offering their presence in the hotel and some are even impolite. The breakfast is ultra basic with very few options and medium quality. The bathroom floor was not heated, a standard for Norway dwellings. You need to pay your stay upon arrival, something that makes us feel untrustworthy and is definitely not an element of warm hospitality.
