A boutique mid century wonder...

Liked: A fantastic mid century piece of Palm Springs hotel history that has been meticulously restored to honour its past and its designer. We loved our stay at Del Marcos - a cool, fun and friendly vibe in the heart of Palm Springs. Beautiful rooms, fun names (ours was Shag). Great coffee and tea and endless ice and air misters to keep us cool in the searing June sun. Beautiful food from the sister property next door too!
Disliked: We didn’t want to leave! Thank you for letting us stay on around the pool after our checkout.

Liked: Amazing downtown location. Walkable.
Disliked: Not super clean, no front desk staff for the first 3 days of our stay. We had to check in at the next door hotel. Room was super tiny. Fridge broke. Sink clogged. Hot and cold switched in our shower.

Bad

Disliked: I booked this hotel in advance for myself and my little son. When making the reservation on Booking.com, I clearly indicated that I was traveling with a child. The booking was confirmed, and the payment was processed without any issues.We live in Los Angeles, and I planned a special trip to the springs with my son to relax and unwind. I drove through the night and arrived around 3:00 AM, only to be met with unexpected and upsetting news. Upon arrival, a staff member told me that children were not allowed at the property, apparently due to my having a stroller. I explained that I already had a confirmed reservation, and only then was I allowed inside — but I was told I would still need to find another place to stay because children are not permitted here.Shortly after, the hotel manager arrived and confirmed that we could not stay, despite the reservation including clear information about my child. He explained that it was Booking.com’s mistake for allowing the reservation to go through, even though it was against the hotel’s policy — a policy that was never mentioned or visible during the booking process.I was exhausted after the long drive, it was very hot outside, and I had carefully planned this trip. I had even booked one of the most expensive rooms. It was the middle of the week, and the hotel was nearly empty — I only saw one other guest. I felt absolutely heartbroken and overwhelmed. I cried and had no choice but to search for another place to stay with my son, which was incredibly stressful.The money was refunded the next day after I contacted Booking.com, but unfortunately, the experience completely ruined our trip.

Good. But not excellent. No...

Liked: Nice pool area
Disliked: The room was outside of the hotel doors. Facing the street sidewalk. You have to get in through the street directly. The reception staff confused our room at first and gave us the wrong key. Took a while to get the correct one.

Pleasant

A very comfortable location for...

Liked: A great location near the heart of the downtown with an easy walk to restaurants, cafes and the museum. A lovely midcentury modern design. The warm swimming pool was a delight. Our room had a little kitchenette and back patio, which we enjoyed.
Disliked: The property is a little rundown with little things here and there that are broken or not quite right. The lobby is closed during the day so if you need anything you have to go next door to the sister hotel.

Would come back!

Liked: Great and quiet stay. I loved our room's interior design and its view on the pool.

Good place for 1-2 nights...

Liked: Location was fantastic- on the edge of downtown
Disliked: Property really needs renovation. Construction is shoddy. Bikes that are provided are awful.
