Beautiful place surrounded by nature

Liked: Lovely property, well taken care of, amenities are a bit slim, no kettle or fridge or drinks for the room. The lobby is shared with the restaurant guests, cozy but busy during certain hours. The board games are a plus for visitors.
Disliked: Slightly confusing check in process as there isn’t a front desk, you’re basically walking into a restaurant. The restaurant service is very slow if you’re hungry, order ahead or go earlier. This is a pretty place to sit down and enjoy a slow meal. Be wary of the bike rental, they only have large frame sizes, not great for smaller guests or kids. I rented through their website but it’s powered by a 3rd party company and the bike size didn’t work for me. The staff was only able to get me a partial refund (yet to be received).

Very disappointing.

Liked: The location was ideal for our interest in the Kroller-Muller museum.
Disliked: The staff was hit or miss ranging from mildly pleasant to completely passive or cold. In either instance, no one was attentive nor particularly hospitable. There is no reception area at all for check in, and we were asked to bring our luggage in through the very center of the restaurant while trying not to knock any glasses off the tables of the onlooking diners. The family room we booked was located in a building 500+ meters away from the main lodge and the configuration and ambience felt like we were camping in a dormitory with other disappointed guests. All this would have felt perhaps a little less insulting if the expensive room rate was not so disproportionate to the value.

Peaceful Nature Getaway with a...

Liked: We were looking for a peaceful nature getaway, and Wever Lodge was perfect — a lovely mix of comfort and quiet luxury. The staff were warm and welcoming, and our cottage was beautiful: a comfy bed, spacious bathroom, and a serene, tree-surrounded view. We loved the fresh, delicious breakfast and the option to unwind with board games and cards. A wonderful place to relax and recharge!
Disliked: A mini fridge would be a great addition — we really missed having some cold water to drink in the room, and there wasn’t anywhere to store a bottle of wine or a few snacks we brought to enjoy on the cottage garden/patio. We also missed that there wasn’t a tea kettle or a proper trash bin in the room. Just small things, but they’d really enhance the overall comfort. Still, it was a wonderful place to relax and recharge!

Very enjoyable stay close to...

Liked: Excellent location close to the Het Nationale Park De Hoge Veluwe and with views from the restaurant over the nature reserve. Our room was comfortable and quiet, and the restaurant provided an excellent breakfast and dinner. The team running the lodge were attentive and helped to ensure a very enjoyable stay!
