Disliked: swimming pool was closed and I didn't know

Liked: The rooms were lovely.
Disliked: We had to move rooms due to flooding in the shower area. Do not use room 209. Had to use all the towels to stop the water from reaching the carpet. Was unaware at breakfast you could ask for like poached eggs. Cooked Food had been out for a long time, the scrambled eggs were cold, they were not under a heat lamp. Made a suggestion to put a sign up for poached and scrambled eggs made to order. The staff looked at me to say I was stupid. They kept on making fried eggs. Felt very disorganised

Liked: Lovely gardens. Good breakfast and our room was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Disappointed that the swimming pool was closed during our stay.

Overall it was a nice...

Liked: The grounds are beautiful, very peaceful and picturesque. Green fields, horses, nice scenery, the towers are lovely. Close to a lovely pub, (the Thatcher’s) good location for walks/trails. We had a lovely walk in the woods (hazel/orchid trail)
Disliked: They suck you In with a picture of the towers, which we booked deliberately because of the reviews of the modern building, which weren’t great. The rooms are very basic, very claustrophobic,much smaller than the pictures imply, chipped paint, chipped fireplace surround which was a trip hazard, dirty walls, dusty window sills, dead flies, stained carpet. Door rattled in the frame all night which made it feel like someone was trying to enter the room!
