Liked: Very comfortable light filled ground floor double room in main building - garden view appreciated.Excellent housekeeping with squeaky clean bathroom - good towels.Ambience of hotel is pleasant with a decor which is a blend of the old with new. Rather good photographic prints of the property, which has an interesting back story ,when a private residence can be found on the walls - worth a second look. All staff encountered very pleasant and table service particularly good.Food - good :)

A very happy find and...

Liked: We had a twin room on the ground floor. It was very big and exceptionally clean. Details such as how the complimentary tea/coffee tray was laid out in the room showed that the staff are well trained with an eye for detail. From the greeting on arrival to that on our departure, we found the staff impeccable in both their manner and their attire. The breakfast was well laid out and very good. We stayed just one night as were attending a funeral nearby, but we would have liked to have stayed longer. The whole hotel is very well laid out and extremely well run.
Disliked: If I had to be picky, the one thing that I would definitely change is the provision of tea bags in the rooms. Our drinks tray included only 2 English breakfast tea bags. There were 2 others but they were decaffeinated and this really does not hit the spot with me!

Liked: Lovely staff & hotel was really nice. Comfortable bed & room very quiet. Easy check in & out. Breakfast was delicious & great coffee too.
