Hotel Description
Founded on the remains of a late medieval fortress De L'Europe Amsterdam offers luxurious accommodations along the Amstel River in the heart of the city. This 5-star hotel includes a fitness area spa and wellness facilities and a waterside terrace. Valet parking is available at an additional charge. The guest rooms and suites blend a classic design including a Carrara marble bathroom with contemporary amenities such as Apple TV A Bose surround sound system and motion detecting floor lighting. A nespresso machine and international adapters are also featured. Some rooms and suites offer a balcony overlooking the Amstel and historic center of Amsterdam. Dutch Masters replicas are displayed in each room in partnership with the Rijksmuseum. De L'Europe includes the fine-dining restaurant Flore with 2 Michelin Stars and a Green Star and a brasserie named Marie which serves French cuisine. The iconic Freddy's Bar offers cocktails and gourmet snacks accompanied by live piano music. Both restaurants and the bar overlook the Amstel and the city center of Amsterdam. In addition a luxurious wellness center Le Spa by Skins Institute compliments the hotel. Luxurious body treatments and sublime skincare are offered using only organic ingredients under the care of professional therapists. The wellness center features saunas a swimming pool and a fitness studio with 'technogym' cardiovascular and resistance equipment. Dam Square is less than a 10-minute walk away. The Flowermarket is only 656 feet away and Foam is 1640 feet. The nearby Spui tram stop gives easy access to Amsterdam Central Railway Station and Museum Square.

Liked: Breakfast. The helpful concierge and reception desk. Also the porters and doormen.
Disliked: Location.

Pleaser

Liked: Clean, comfortable, quiet for sleep
Disliked: The Spa was not staffed well. The refreshments were not stocked up regularly. The changing rooms did not have good ventilation.

Nice historical hotel, excellent location,...

Liked: De L'Europe is at the heart of Amsterdam city centre, at a walking distrance to the most significant destinations. Besides this, it is a very well maintaned institution that has been constantly improving by new additions over the years while maintaining its original ambiance. A hotel is just a building without a loyal staff. In this respect, De L'Europe is a perfect establishment with its very friendly, professional staff. Taking this opportunity I would like to thank Renee, Jordan and Kostas whose presence extending over many years make De L’Europe a home away from home.
