Diassappointing
Liked: Friendly receptionist who was sympathetic to the dissatisfactions that we raised, but who didn't have the authority to compensate us while the manager was off-duty over the weekend
Disliked: The response that I got from the manager, Toby, with respect to our dissatisfactions.After a 12 hour journey from Europe to Stansted, which included a 2 hour flight delay and an arrival at 23:55, we drove two hours north to the Peterborough Service Station's Days Inn, to break our journey half way to a baptism in Yorkshire.We arrived there at 01:45 and after checking in and getting in our pyjamas, we then spotted the bathroom sink's plug was seized-up and it wouldn't swivel open, so that water that had filled in the basin when we washed wouldn't drain away. Neither could adjacent the soap dispenser nozzle be unlocked to dispense some gel and only one set of towels had been left in the room that was for double occupancy.However, at 02:00 in the morning BST (03:00 in the morning on our Central European Time "body-clocks") we decided to just go to bed and raise the issue of the problems in the morning, which we did.The lady receptionist was very sympathetic and she came to the room to see the problems. She had to use a stiff ball-point pen to hit the seized-up swivel sing plug really hard with about 5-6 blows before it swivelled open, but she couldn't unlock the sop dispenser. When I asked about the lack of towels for 2 people, she explained that it was the company's new policy to only issue one set of towels.When I asked about the possibility of some financial compensation, she advised me to email the Duty Manager who was not on duty over the weekend.This I did, pointing out the above and I asked for a 50% reimbursement to ameliorate our inconvenience.The reply I got was unsympathetic, he pointed out that because "these minor issues were not reported promptly, and as such we were not given the chance to respond immediately, I do not have the authority to issue you any refund.

Liked: Day time reception was lovely, very helpful,been to the hotel many times and ashe is always very nice
Disliked: Being wken up at 320am by the night receptionist.taling and laughing on the phone very loudly.my room was next to reception and the corridor door was open.l went to shut it and he ran into the office.then delivery trolley s being moved around at 630 am.l was drinking a cup of tea at 4 am.When l went to leave the day time reception ist.said he was so sorry waking me.but l was not happy at all.always had good sleep.
