OK for a stopover

Liked: Location was good for an overnight stop on our way to Scotland - I wouldn't use it for anything else.We only saw one member of staff, when we checked in and she seemed nice.My ratings are mainly neutral because it was average and nothing special, but OK as a stopover.
Disliked: We paid extra for a balcony room with a view over Anandale Water and were looking forward to sitting on the balcony on the evening but the air was just filled with midgies so don't bother with that if you don't want to get bitten!The taps felt like they weren't going to work - had to turn them full turns about 3 times before water came out.The whole place just felt "tired" - could do with freshening up.In the car park - we saw a rodent run into the low bushes that are at the end of the parking rows.

Great location but in need...

Liked: The location by the lake was very pleasant, and the room was comfortable and clean.The motorway services were handy for a late meal and breakfast.
Disliked: The bathroom was in need of renovation; the taps in the washbasin were loose, and the shower control was so stiff it was very difficult to turn off.

Perfect place for a over...

Liked: Lovely location with comfortable and clean rooms.
Disliked: Nothing

Great place for a stopover

Liked: We chose to stay in a lake view room and this was really nice, it was peaceful and had a nice view. The room was a good size and was what we needed for an overnighter. The receptionist on our arrival was so welcoming and helpful. The surrounding area was great for an early morning walk with the dog.
Disliked: It was anticipated but the decor is a little dated and there is a lack of plugs near the bed (this made plugging in my CPAP a little tricky.
