Why Concert-goers love it

Concert-goers appreciate this hotel’s central location, just a short drive from multiple entertainment venues across Newport News. After the show, you can be back in your room in minutes. The area is relatively quiet at night, making it a good place to wind down after a high-energy performance. We don't think we will...

Liked: free parking and there were stores around the hotel in walking distance and the air condition in the room work well since it was hot
Disliked: 1) when we entered the hotel to check in, it had a dirty smell 2) there was a dirty mop and mop bucket near the front desk 3) when arriving there were young people hanging around the entrance, 4) the towels in the room were cheap and on the second day we need more and was told there was no more til they wash some,5) could not rest because out back near the poll the was a car park near our room playing loud music, 6) the front desk had glass all around it, that is a bad sign for new guest

Days Inn should really do...

Liked: Close proximity to my home
Disliked: The property was dirty, old and out dated. It had roaches in the breakfast area which did not have a sink . The breakfast was supposed to be complimentary to the guests but had very little to choose from,no meat or eggs just bread ,cereal and yogurt. Flooring had not been swept, mopped or vacuumed for at least 3 days. The outside of the hotel had trash and cigarette butts threw out the parking lot and there was nowhere to sit for a simple rest. The mattress are thrown on top of some kind of metal box which looks like a coffin. The toilet was too low. The comforter on one of the beds was actually a curtain and not a spread. We were told if we needed anything just press 0 on the phone, the phone never worked. The noise was scary and as we complained there was nothing done to make the stay any more comfortable. I could go on but I don’t think too much will change.

My worst experience & I...

Liked: The front desk reception had a good attitude but short staff. Friday evening the young man at front was running around trying to meet the customer needs while there were loads customer waiting in lobby.
Disliked: The outside of the hotel was dirty not well kept. When I arrived on the inside a lot of people were hanging out in the lobby area, I saw two pair of shoes underneath the chair next to the door with an open bag of potatoes chips on the floor behind the chair. The 1st room I had the baseboard trim were very dirty, they did not have iron or ironing board, the front desk stated that not a requirement. I was move to a 2nd room d/t the TV was cracked. I could not sleep in the bed d/t the bed linen was cause my skin to itch. Went to kitchen area at 6am the next morning (Saturday 6/28/25) the door was locked, noted 6 people standing waiting to go in for bkf, but the receptionist is the only person working, she had wait on the customers 1st before she could get things set up the kitchen area. She stated it could take me 45 minute to set up. What really get next to me, when one of the customers came into the building, she walked up to me, I spoke out of common courtesy, she went off, she was calling name and shouting, she stated "who does this bitch think she is" a male friend grabbed and put her on the elevator, and she continues yell out. I was devasted had nowhere to go d/t Newport news festival and the basketball tournament all room were sold out. I talked with the female receptionist, and she could not make any kind of adjustment without the manager approval. I could not leave because I came down for my godmother funeral. The funeral was Saturday at 12noon then follow her body had to transported to Hampton Veteran Memorial Garden, in Hampton, va. I arrived back at hotel @ 5:30 pm. Explained myself again to male receptionist told what happen but he could not make any adjustment. he left a note, and I signed the note and left my phone number. I called & talked with Shirely on 6/30/25 the hotel manager yesterday, explained to her what happened she apologized and stated she was sorry but only thing she can do take $59.
