Days Inn by Wyndham Mankato

The front desk attendant was in no hurry to check us in. The electrics was very strange. We had to unplug the lamp by the TV to operate the TV and vice versa. The clock never worked. A very angry pool attendant was also very rude to us when we were swimming 1 minute past the pool closing time. One good point - the room was clean.

We were pleased with our stay at the Mankato-Days Inn. The room seemed clean and the bathroom was clean which is the most important thing! Bed was comfortable. We were close to downtown and the Ribfest and Tracy Lawrence concert. Easy to get to and get back!

I would rather sleep in...

Liked: The proximity to downtown Mankato was the only thing I can find positive about this hotel.
Disliked: It was 100% one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. I compare it to a worn down hotel in Wyoming that you would only stay in if the highways were closed and there was no where else to stay. Outside the hotel was dirty, weeds, bad parking lot, tools/supplies for some sort of construction, leaning on the exterior. Inside, it smelt like curry, the husband and wife were rude and not accommodating. The pool was ice cold and tiny (the pictures online are very deceiving). Carpet was worn, the rooms looked like they hadn't been renovated since the 80's/90's. Rooms, halls, and hotel in general smelt like a combo of musty, plus curry, plus sewage. Breakfast was a joke. Room was filthy, and air conditioning in room didn't work. I have never left a bad review, but I think it is important to let everyone know the reality. True bait-and-switch from what is offered online and what the reality is of the hotel. RUN!!!!!!

Disliked: Language barrier with the staff. Staff was very rude even combative. The entire hotel smelled very strongly of Indian food. Under construction.

If you need a place...

Disliked: They don’t have what you need, the staff are never at the front desk. You have to call them. They enter your room without asking for nonemergency reasons. And they do not do what they say they’re gonna do. I’ve stayed at 200+ hotels and this was the worst state I have ever had.
