Days Inn by Wyndham Clive - West Des Moines

This hotel was great value! Very close to Val-Air ballroom, and it has been renovated. I noticed at first that there are outdoor entries to the rooms, which would usually be a turn-off for me, but the hotel has obviously been renovated, has a nice pool area and was clean. We had an excellent meal at the BBQ place next door. We will definitely stay again.

For being on the good...

Liked: The room itself was fine for the price. Air conditioning worked fine. Restaurant next door was very convenient.
Disliked: Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful.... from the Indian behind the counter to the 'Sorry no Ing-glay' Latina cleaning the room.Room had no fridge, microwave, coffee maker or tissue. Next morning at continental style bf....no coffee, juice machine was watered down OJ, and apple was out of order. The corridor leading to my room smelled like rotting garbage. Plus, half of the parking lot was torn up.

Disliked: Male cashier at the front desk was RUDE & would not accept the payment on the card that was used to hold the room, then he refused to release our money since we were not allowed access to the room.

Liked: The price.
Disliked: There were socks hanging out from underneath the bed when we arrived. Walls are paper thin. The guest in the neighboring room used their blow dryer in the middle of the night, and it sounded like it was in our room. We had 2 queen beds and only one bed pillow. The rest of the pillows were square, the size of a throw pillow.

Disliked: The beds, only had one wash cloth in the room, lack of good pillows they were very old and crappy. While checking in the man behind the counter was more worried about a noise he heard then checking us in, he lacked any customer service. Breakfast had bread or waffles with no other offerings. For $216 a night this was a huge let down.
