Liked: Cleaning staff, front desk was helpful when we thought we left à possession behind.
Disliked: Torn drapery, small bath room, bed had springs that made à terrible noise whenever you moved in the bed.

A very nice town with...

Liked: We chose this motel as base for local sights and the eclipse. It worked very well for that. In fact, Charleston turned out be a great find. There are excellent museums at the Lincoln Douglas debate site and theThomas and Mary Bush Lincoln house. Great insight into mid-19th century life and the beginning of commerical farming.
Disliked: The breakfast is barebones. The bed is in metal box that creaked. The value was fine for the normal price of a room; we paid a 50 % premium for the eclipse; our choice. However, it developed that as the market changed the price went down. We weren't watching and didn't take advantage of free cancellation. No complaint about this but beware in this traveling situation.

Rocking toilet

Disliked: The toilet was not mounted to the floor. The bed made noise everytime you moved. The room was I've cold upon arrival. When I complain the employee seemed bothered and no apology
