Don't stay here. Unsafe for...

Liked: Room 411 was the best because it had a microwave and a fridge. The bathroom was clean. Room 410 was ok. Nice view of the Sears Tower (Willis Tower). The bathroom wasn't too clean. Room 408 wasn't good at all. No fridge, no microwave. The bathtub didn't look clean. There were so many problems with this place that I had to continue it in the "positives" section because booking.com puts a limit on how much you can write. *Every time I went to the front desk, I would overhear another customer complaining about how unprofessional and misleading the staff was. I should have taken that as a warning the first time I witnessed it. *The lobby is full of slot machines which makes the area a bit too loud. I didn't appreciate how some of the men looked at/treated me there either. *The cleaning staff didn't do the best job. Sometimes, I found their hair in my bathroom after returning to my room. I also witnessed them putting pillows on the dirty floor then putting them back on the bed like it was ok. *My lamp wasn't working in 411 and I needed it for my work. The staff member named Gwen didn't really want to help me and complained about me asking for help. And she didn't believe me! I had to record a video of my lamp not working in order for her to believe me. She gave me a key to another room so that I could get a new lamp but that one didn't work either... I tried to just go out and buy a desk lamp but the Walgreens down the street didn't sell them. When I told her how I tried to handle it on my own, she still had an attitude and didn't want to help or at least let me get a different lamp. Gwen really needs to give that job to someone who actually would appreciate having it. But overall, the people who worked there weren't very kind and made you feel uncomfortable.
Disliked: There were many problems with this place. I don't recommend women to stay here alone because I didn't feel very safe. Here's what happened: *On the third day, I went downstairs for breakfast. While I was chit-chatting with another guest at the hotel, a man kept pestering me throughout my meal, asking me to come to his room. Apparently this hotel has hookers on the 6th floor and he'd mistaken me for one. He wasn't the first either. *A woman named Gwen often ran the front desk. She was so unkind, unprofessional, and unwilling to help you. All she cared about was her phone and her food. *They only seemed to serve breakfast on weekends... *I stayed in room 410, first. It was ok but later I realize I was overcharged. I asked for the cheapest room available and they claimed only one of their more expensive rooms was available. But it wasn't true. They ripped me off. I only found that out when I came back. Don't stay in room 408. 411 was the best and cleanest. *Despite my company putting a lot of money into this place, the manager named Lidia treated me poorly when there was an issue with my reservation. "DIdn't I already explain this to you a week ago?!" Was the rude and condescending tone she used when speaking to me. I guess she's never traveled before. I've stayed at other hotels that still maintained a great attitude whenever there was a mishap. This Lidia person was extremely unprofessional and unkind (completely different from day 1). I'm not really sure how she became a manager. *The housekeeping staff didn't speak English which is ok. I could speak some Spanish to get me through. However, the staff didn't seem to understand how the "Do not disturb" sign worked and became rude. *They let guests smoke in ALL of the rooms. The non-smoking option is a lie. If you're sensitive to smoke, don't stay here. It seems like a health violation to me... *You're not allowed to pay online.

Passable

Liked: Location was convenient
