Booked the room on line and it was reserved for me when I arrived in Ames. Room was fine, clean; friendly staff; complimentary newspaper and breakfast, which was better than I expected. Would do it again.

Liked: The location of the Hotel is on the main commercial street for dinner, and shopping. Short drive to college campus.
Disliked: Could not get the TV to work.

Rude manager, depressing rooms

Disliked: To be completely honest, the location is great and everything else is below average. However the thing that made me give it one star is the random transactions that they do. Im not a frequent traveler but these transactions are not ok. If you want to take a deposit or charge me for anything TAKE IT FROM THE START OR TELL ME ABOUT IT AND MAKE IT CLEAR TO ME, dont charge me 230 dollars at 3 am!!!. Also, when I ask the manager what is this charge he doesnt explain he only says dont worry you will only pay for the room. Like I said Im not a frequent traveler but I dont even know how they have my card info! Im not sure if this is a normal thing but it is not ok for me! I would recommend going to another hotel that is clear about what they want from you exactly or if you really want the location I recommend locking your card before you sleep. Also, the manager Andy was super rude to me at the checkout time, I told him how much thay owe me and he was rude and doesnt know how to explain and he got annoyed so fast because his explanation was so poor. I havent got my money yet but I will wait and see.
