Liked: This place was just perfect for our trip to Cambridge. It has everything we needed and frankly was such a wonderful experience. It is very well thought out and has all the amenities one would need. It really felt like living at a home-away-from-home. If the prices are competitive I don't think one can get a better place to stay in all of Cambridge, of course this is not a hotel so no facilities like a gym/pool etc. But in every other way this was the PERFECT accommodation, don't think we have been as pleasantly surprised anywhere else. It is in a nice location, close to the subway and lots of restaurants etc. but also in a quiet part of the neighborhood. Breakfast was easy and nice with great coffee too. All day availability was also such a plus. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Disliked: Nothing, if we were to nit pick then since the rooms are on the first floor (2nd if you're from the US!) you will need to carry your bags up the stairs. There is a cat that comes in to the house (very friendly too!) but if you're allergic then that could be an issue.

Tiny room with basic breakfast...

Liked: Inn was clean and had a beautiful garden.
Disliked: Room was tiny and I heard a lot of slamming doors. Also, it was difficult to coordinate use of shared bathroom. Breakfast offerings were basic.

A homely address, much better...

Liked: An excellent range of items for breakfast. Interesting to meet visitors of other nationalities & easy access to 'T' subway five minutes away made the City Centre easy to visit.

Liked: I thought there was a conviviality among guests. Place very clean. MANY instructions about place posted and it was easy to navigate breakfast as well as coming/going without need for keys etcBathroom was well supplied and the robe in the closet was a real help
Disliked: Room very small. Price point was a bit high for the room with shared bathroom, but understand this was commencement weekend. There is a cat and I am allergic, but was informed about it. Took my meds, but still had issues. I was put on 3rd floor. Am high functioning but climbing narrow steps with luggage is tough. I could have asked for an accommodation, but did not think it was needed. It was. The eaves in the third floor room required my alertness when I got up from the desk.

Liked: We had a wonderful stay at Davis Square Inn. The location is extremely convenient — just a short walk from the Boston Red Line station, making it easy to access the central parts of Boston. Davis Square itself is a vibrant and lively neighborhood, filled with students and a great local energy. Tufts University is within walking distance, and Harvard is just a short ride away.Our room was clean, beautifully decorated, and exactly as pictured on their website. Every morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast featuring high-quality fresh bread, fruits, yogurt, orange juice, and scrambled eggs, along with pressed coffee available for guests. It created a perfect setting to enjoy a relaxing meal and connect with other travelers — we really enjoyed the conversations and friendly atmosphere each morning.An added charm was the gentle resident cat, who made the stay feel even more welcoming and home-like. Overall, Davis Square Inn is a lovely bed and breakfast with thoughtful touches, warm hospitality, and a fantastic location. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Boston area.
