Liked: General location, ambience lovely gardens.
Disliked: It was obvious that the room was previously a student type bed/study room of not very large size. There was no television or telephone in the room. The toilet systern had water hammer, which if used during the night created a noise problem. There was a noise issue whenever the occupant of the room above moved around.

Very enjoyable stay in a...
Liked: Teas, coffee and kettle in room much appreciated. Excellent shower. Excellent breakfast.
Disliked: Windows difficult to open and close . Would prefer double glazed and updated to match old design, would also allow more efficient warming in room in cold weather. Would have liked a TV in the room. Cafe closed too early so nowhere on site to have dinner.

Brilliant and great breakfast
Liked: Lovely breakfast in the morning. The room didn?t have a bathroom but it was just 6 feet away so it wasn?t a problem, lovely room, comfortable bed and tea and coffee facilities and even a hair dryer. Lovely stay and large room x

Lovely, picturesque place to stay.
Liked: Lovely place to stay. Beautiful grounds and gardens. Very reasonable price.
Disliked: Unfortunately my room was close to the cinema which was loud when I was trying to get to sleep. Would be good if films ended by 10 or 10.30.

Peaceful relaxing location
Liked: The location is ideal for exploring Totnes and then the actual site itself is superb with Grade 11 listed gardens to explore, a pub/restaurant on site and a cinema barn. So much on this Medieval site to explore. There is a peacefulness and serenity to the hotel, despite lots of guests.
Disliked: Our bedroom was large (family room) with a very comfortable bed. However, the shower room was tired and would have benefited from an update. The tea and coffee selection in the room was very limited. We didn?t realise, until after reception had closed, that the main door to the East wing locked after a certain time and with only one key between us that was an issue. We have stayed on this site before and enjoyed a lovely served hot breakfast. This time it had changed to buffet style, really disappointing, food sitting for a couple of hours in heaters is not the best.
