Passable

Liked: Foyer area and restaurant food plus staff are very professional.
Disliked: Condition of the older rooms was the main issue on11th floor. Noot at 4 star standard and not yet been renovated. Broken, veneer, broken under cover of sink, hallway scuffs, oaint work not pristine and bkeeding onto the bkack skirting which showed signs of not being washed and dusted. Overall standard was very low in these rooms, Hotel is not well maintained although some renovation occurring on other floors. Chewing gym stuck in the lift crevice on the door for example. Lifts and high customer vokume areas, these areas require inspections to clean away customer mess. Staff are very professional and moved me to another room recently renovated. Gracious and kind. Lifts coould be heard going up and down so itt can be annoying if you like quiet. Rooms are not sound proofed. That being said staff Managers also asked me to inspect my original room, send pictures and email them, to see my room and conditions there. Both managers were wonderful and helpful and thats st least 70% of what makes a hotel great. Its not a 4 star (iin the room 11th floor). Its run down in some areas and frayed edges of carpets and the other ussues require maintenance and attention. They should close part of the hotel for renovation duration and expedite these updates quickly. Location is very good and the hotel is ideally located to get the best out of a trip to London. Reduced prices should be offered for poor and unrealistic interior standards. I asked for a refund of at least one night but it was not accepted and they moved me with a late check out instead. Overall, disappointed for the cost.

A good mid range hotel....

Liked: Beautiful foyer, restaurant, bar, location good between tube stops. Next to Lords for cricket lovers.
Disliked: The standard double was dark, felt claustrophobic with a smaller window than most due to being on a corner. The next room category up would be worth it for a brighter situation. Was quiet though.

Friendly hotel in a good...

Liked: Excellent food and drink, competitively priced for London. Great breakfast and only 10 mins walk from St John's Wood tube station.
Disliked: Rooms starting to look a little tired, and the lifts are compact.

A pleasant,modest and clean hotel...

Liked: The location next to London zoo was brilliant
Disliked: There wasn’t much not to like about this place, if I really had to pick something, there was a slight redolence upon arrival in the hallways. But that was gone by the evening. And a couple of the bedside lights didn’t work, but that did not deter our stay.
