Liked: Lisa, who checked us in, was fantastic! She couldn't do enough to help us, and answered all our questions in a professional and pleasant way. Lovely meal for dinner. The grounds and scenery were really great. Best bit was sitting in front of the fire after dinner
Disliked: Our room was a bit old. There were cracks in the walls in the bathroom. The lady who checked us out was not personable and pleasant. She told us she had to do yesterday close before she could allow us to check out. We were delayed in checking out because of this, and we had said the night before we wouldn't have breakfast as it was too late at 8am. We had to wait until nearly 8am to check out, when we were told last night we could leave at 7.30.

Liked: Beautiful property in a beautiful location. The rooms are well decorated and very comfortable. Staff were very helpful and food was incredible.Only thing to note is that there are no grocery shops etc around the area.

Disliked: That the £15 breakfast offer I took when I arranged the visit with Booking.com was questioned by the receptionist. Can Booking.com ensure the offer of £15 is shown on the booking with the hotel.

Exceptional

Liked: It was raining on the day so we couldn’t explore around the grounds on foot as much as we would have liked, but the setting couldn’t have been more perfect! The lobby, dining and lounge areas were as beautiful as the room itself. The amount of historical items on display was great and interesting to look at. Staff were incredibly polite and gracious.
Disliked: Probably just personal taste, but the dinner is on the posher side so if this isn’t your thing, then just be aware of that in advance.

We picked the best place...

Liked: First impressions mean a lot. The drive up to the castle is lovely. Check in was a breeze and we were met by a friendly gentleman who upgraded our room for us. Dinner was creative, excellent and served by an attentive, friendly staff. Quiet, clean, comfortable and an excellent breakfast the next morning
Disliked: Nothing worth noting

A Fantastic Place to stay.

Liked: Everything about our stay was perfect. The staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. We loved the food and the lounge area was lovely too. Our room was comfortable and clean and we liked the decor and furniture. The information about the room names was a nice touch.
Disliked: That we could only stay one night!
