Great hotel on the edge...

Liked: Wonderful and very helpful service all around, clean amenities, and ample parking accommodations. The location was also very convenient to get to the airport after our stay.
Disliked: While it's not very far from Edinburgh city center, it can be a trek to get into the center of town. If you are driving plan ahead on parking or taking public transport.

As a family we had...

Liked: Facilities; swimming pool especially for the kids. Steam room and sauna for the adults. Driving range was fun and the pool room. Breakfast was lovely with lots of options and attentive staff
Disliked: Just the pool table needs a bit of TLC maybe a new baize and maybe a little makeover in the pool/games room to freshen it up but overall wasn’t a major issue.

Okay stay, the room fell...

Liked: The beds were very comfortable and I was thankful for the iron and board provided in the room. Breakfast was decent, there was a good spread and plenty of food. The pool, sauna, and gym looked very nice, though we did not have time to use them. The grounds were absolutely stunning and I loved the outside seating.
Disliked: The room was not what I was expecting for the cost of this stay. The desk had chunks missing from the padding on it, the bathroom was very outdated (which I assume is why its not featured on the site) and had loose tiles on the floor. While it wasn't overly dirty, it certainly wasn't completely clean as there was hair dust and debri throughout. There were also no robes provided for the pool and sauna area, which I think is pretty common for these places to have.

Liked: Staff as always were brilliant. Friendly and helpful throughout. Breakfast was good and the restaurant for dinner was excellent. Lovely tasty food well prepared and served. Room lovely and comfortable.
Disliked: The only issue we had was we were in a room at the back of the hotel overlooking a garden. There was a bird in there with a couple of young ones (looked like oystercatchers) that made a lot of noise from very early in the morning and actually well after it turned dark. Meant we had disturbed sleep both nights. If anyone gets a room there might be worth checking if they're still there!
