Relaxing stay.
Liked: Views from the garden were lovely. Set back from the main road so very tranquil. Rooms clean and comfy.Staff were great.
Disliked: General areas of the hotel were outdated, however fitted in with the age of the building. No draught drinks avaialbe.

Disliked: In one of our rooms the cups weren’t clean. Maybe having black mugs isn’t such a good idea . Other than that everything was good

walking trip near Thirlmere
Liked: Nice old building in lovely quiet spot - on the banks of the lake. Friendly staff.
Disliked: There isn't really a restaurant service at present. Bar meals can be prepared by one of the team, if requested. There is a good pub on the main road just opposite the drive, if you want a restaurant meal.

Liked: Needs to be taken into the 20th century. The bathroom was modern, but not a lot of pressure behind the shower. Looks like the lack of maintenance over the years. Looks like a back door for the main entrance, could be updated
