Beautiful. Almost a time warp...

Liked: A grand old hotel with, what I would describe as, faded charm. Renovation works are clearly going on slowly but surely. It remains so many beautiful period features that jark back to the glory days of such hotels in the Lake District. It's location is okay with Grange and easily walkable distance away. The room was to a sufficient standard but would benefit from a refresh of the fixtures and fittings. This is the case with the hotel in general though I have to say it did not detract in any way from the enjoyment of our stay. If anything it added to the charm of the place. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed a very good night's rest. I would recommend the hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the area, just temper your expectations and revel in it's period grandeur and charm A thoroughly enjoyable stay which we would be happy to repeat at anytime.
Disliked: Some of the fixtures and fittings need a refresh. Such as the runners on the wardrobe door etc
