Stunning views through grubby glass....

Liked: The grounds and location of the hotel were the reason for booking however exterior the building needs work the gutters cleaning for a start.
Disliked: We asked prior to travelling if we arrived a little earlier could we leave our car in the carpark and go for a walk on the promenade and town. The answer was a strange one mentioning there may not be parking space. Parking is indeed tight for a hotel with so many rooms. The room we were given was not as the picture depicted when we booked however we were given an improved one when we pointed it out. But the fabric of the two rooms we did see and stay in were long overdue a revamp, bathrooms in both were useable and carpets and bedding clean but the beds were terrible comfort wise and dirty around the valance area obviously from folks dirty feet etc.but as i say that worn they gave no support and were like a brick. Take no pleasure writing this and for us it was only a night but a week would be quite hard. Also there were too many dogs, i like dogs but there is a place for them and it isn't in hotels or shops, the last few years you can't move for them. No hate mail please we know how tetchy you are about your babies.

We will return !!

Liked: Basically it's the most beautiful old hotel , so expect that and you won't be disappointed. The hotel , the room , bar all very nice .Lovely grounds with a woodland walk .Great location very close to Grange over sands train station and town
Disliked: Bar food menu , I'd say expect pub grub type food nothing wrong with it and reasonably priced The restaurant food was plentiful but unfortunately carvery only , which I found a bit strange but was ok because I was hungry .Grange over sands is very close and offers some nice restaurants/ bistros.
