High Cost, Low Reward

Liked: There was a view from the lobby but not from the room!!!
Disliked: ‏My stay at the Cruachan Hotel left me with a profound sense of disappointment. The property presents itself as a respectable accommodation, yet in reality it offers only the most basic of facilities while charging a rate that is entirely disproportionate to the experience provided.‏Facilities and comfort: The rooms are furnished in a manner that can best be described as functional, but certainly not comfortable. The amenities are minimal, outdated, and far removed from the standard one would reasonably expect given the excessive price. Nothing here feels curated with the guest’s comfort in mind; rather, everything appears perfunctory, as though designed merely to fulfil the bare minimum of requirements.‏Service: Equally troubling is the attitude of the staff. Courtesy, attentiveness, and a genuine sense of hospitality were conspicuously absent throughout my stay. Requests were met with indifference, and at no point did I feel that guest satisfaction was a priority. In a competitive hospitality market, such a lack of professionalism is inexcusable.‏Value for money: Perhaps the most glaring issue is the cost. For accommodation of such stark simplicity and such inadequate service, the rates charged are nothing short of extortionate. The disparity between price and quality is so vast that it borders on misleading.‏Conclusion: The Cruachan Hotel is, in essence, a basic establishment masquerading as something more, while exploiting its guests financially. I cannot in good conscience recommend it to any discerning traveller. Until significant improvements are made in both service and amenities, this hotel represents a poor investment of both time and money.‏Final verdict: An underwhelming, overpriced, and unworthy experience – best avoided.

We had the loveliest time...

Liked: Firstly the location overlooking the Loch was just stunning and a wonderful surprise as didn't realise it was so close. Sitting on the terrace that evening was heaven. Staff friendly, even though our room was at the rear of the property it was still lovely. Our son had views of the Loch from his room. Bed so comfortable had great nights sleep, bathroom excellent and the complimentary toiletries were gorgeous. I cannot fault the rooms and we are already planning our next trip and will be staying here again
Disliked: Sadly the breakfast wasn't great, but the evening meal was delicious

Liked: As a family of 4, we got a large spacious room with spectacular lake view. Hotel staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The room was modernized and spotlessly clean. Definitely recommend if you stay at Fort William.
